5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A present for the Nintendo loving boyfriend - a Toad Ipod Sock! on: August 06, 2011 11:59:29 AM
Hi Smiley
I've gone a bit mad posting things tonight - first time posting after years of looking on in awe at projects...hence why I can only post links and not actual pics, but please take a look and give me your honest opinions!

This was an Ipod cozy I made for my boyfriend on our 3 and a half year anniversary - we've been long distance for the past year so we take every opportunity to celebrate even tiny things!

Anyways, he has a complete obsession with Mario, his fave character being Toad, so it was only right I use him!

I now have requests from all the other Nintendo fans in our friend circle...currently working on a Goomba Smiley

Thank you for looking!

p.s. no pattern - this was total guesswork, and if I did it again I would definitely make improvements!
6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Caboodles Cushions - first time posting, feedback much appreciated! on: August 06, 2011 11:44:31 AM
Hi!
First of all - apologies for photo quality...I'm relying on a borrowed broken Blackberry camera!

As the title clearly gives away, this is my first time posting on here after years of being a member spying on so many amazing and inspiring projects.  I've now decided to build up the courage to post something of my own and would love some honest feedback...positive or negative Smiley

To help me survive a year of teacher training, I turned to my love of all things craft and found that I LOVE sewing.  These are just a few of my creations...

All the stitching on the fronts was done by hand in blanket stitch, and all appliques were handmade Smiley

I'm now considering selling other items like these (after a lot of encouragement from family and friends) at local craft fairs etc - the originals I can't bear to part with!  However, I would like some objective opinions on whether my work is up to selling standard...They are by no means perfect, but I like that and I am still thrilled with how they all turned out!

Just to let you know, the majority of money I make from 'Caboodles Cushions' would go towards my dream of completing an MA in Film Studies, and the remainder (at least 10%) would be going to Macmillan (a charity in the UK who care for cancer patients and their families).

Thank you so much!  And much love for all the projects I've seen on here already  Smiley
