Just elastic at the waist and upper back. Nice and simple!
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Vintage Vogue 5256 on: May 08, 2012 04:36:57 PM
This dress was made with a vintage Vogue pattern (#5256), and vintage Greeff medium-weight cotton. I altered the pattern to add a keyhole opening in the back. 100% cotton, finished with a self-lined bodice, french seams and bias tape. More photos and witty commentary on my blog http://palindromedrygoods.blogspot.com/2012/05/so-excited-i-just-cant-hide-it.html

Happy sewing!

23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / New Look 6096 on: May 04, 2012 08:16:57 PM
I made this summery dress with New Look #6096 and a bright border print. It fits great and was simple to make! More info on my blog if youd like to take a peek. http://palindromedrygoods.blogspot.com/2012/05/hanging-by-thread.html

24  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Simplicity 6409 on: April 10, 2012 08:39:34 PM
Heres the second piece I made for The Tin Thimbles fashion show. Its a vintage pattern, Simplicity 6409 to be exact, and new Lotta Jansdotter fabric. I lined the bodice and finished all the seams with bias tape and flat-fell seams. I think the bows, faux sweetheart neckline and sweet shape make it just girlie enough to satisfy me, but the neutral color print and practicality tone it down to make it something I will wear quite often. 25  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / New Look 6836 on: March 31, 2012 09:37:39 PM
I made this blouse for The Tin Thimbles Third Annual handmade Summer Wardrobe Fashion Show. Its made with a beautiful, soft Joel Dewberry voile. I changed the hemline to be curved and finished the ENTIRE garment in french seams. Im quite proud about that last bit. I just happened to have 3 vintage buttons that matched just perfectly. I love it when that happens. More info on my blog!

26  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sunglass Case and Laptop Case on: February 09, 2012 10:14:43 PM
The spring semester started here at Chico state, and in an attempt to get myself prepared, and excited, for classes I whipped up a zippered, padded, and water proof case for my laptop as well as some cute zippered, scrappy, sunglass (or pencil) cases. Both were good projects to use up some of my scraps. More info and pics at my blog. http://palindromedrygoods.blogspot.com/2012/02/school-supplies.html

Check out the blog titled "A Spoon Full of Sugar" for a great tutorial on the pencil cases.

Oh my gosh, so sorry, I forgot to post the link! http://palindromedrygoods.blogspot.com/2012/01/flannel.html

And I used flannel for both layers of fabric. Extra warm!

29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Pom-pom trim has my heart on: January 10, 2012 10:00:33 PM
I have seen it! I haven't used it for anything yet ( I do like the look of a nice, sturdy, pom-pom) but I always look at it. So cute!

My mother always used pom-pom trim on my clothing when I was little, and I thought it was so silly. Now that I'm older however, I realize that it is in fact not silly at all, but really quite adorable. It's a bit ridiculous. I buy it every time I can find it and use it on half of what I make now. It's especially easy and fun to use on scarves.
