1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Giant on: March 05, 2013 08:40:41 PM
I love this! And... it gives me hopes of figuring out the head shape pattern for an amigurumi that I have always wanted to make(the whole reason I attempted amigurumi in the first place!). This cute little guy you made has a similar dome;).  (Another anime character... old school though lol) I've made just 2 dolls with a bit of a guide and some luck.  But, your skills are freakin' rocking! How tall is this doll?
and, btw.. this rocks!
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Whimsical Animals on: June 05, 2012 08:38:24 PM
oooh! very sweet! While I am partial to the second.. My son (who is almost 7 and has severe autism) loves the 3rd one! Wild animals are his obsession! Safari and Jungle are his favorites Wink Upon showing him your paintings,  He started clapping lol I asked "More animals? Which one?" He replied with 3... Elephant, Giraffe, Wildebeast. (He also named a dung beetle, but I have no idea how that would be done in a cute manner! LMBO! But, he's determined to have a dung beetle since seeing them in a kids' special!) The first 2 are his favorite animals... but, wildebeast is something he is always looking to see (whether in the toy store or in art etc) maybe because they aren't in many things :/  This child barrels down the hallway at school escaping his teachers to see animal wall alphabets in other classrooms! lol Needless to say... he loved looking at your paintings! They are adorable!

Ok... after a little bit of a wait... I am posting the contents of my awesome package Smiley I was in bed all day Saturday sick with a nasty stomach flu with my 6 year old... We slept pretty much the whole day away... And, then, Sunday afternoon my daughter told me that my package had come!! I was super excited!! I couldn't have gotten it at a better time!!
AND..... there were TWO 4x6s!!! Smiley I feel special! Wink I am not sure if our partners are the same as we sent to... or if partners were all different and mixed... But, I want to say thank you for these 2 lovely pieces of art! (If it was yzag... thank you..)

They compliment each other so well! I love the colors, too. They're my favorites. The embellishments gave it the perfect touch! I will find a place to display them both together Smiley Thank you, again!!

I must say... I love the tiger.. Never been a day of the dead art fan. But, seeing it on something other than the same old skulls... like this awesome tiger, that's awesome! Love it! Also, I am quite partial to that sun and moon piece! It's beautiful! And, Owen.. made me think of my hubby and his newest trip to Mens' Warehouse lol A Scottish gentleman talked him into a pink and a purple shirt!! I was floored when he came home with them and the matching ties (he was a never wear anything remotely girly kind of guy-he now sees they look nice on him lol)! This was just 2 weeks ago! lol So, yep! I love Owen too Wink So many great little art pieces in this gallery and it's just getting started! Can't wait to see everyone's art!!

yzag, so glad you like it. I had another direction in mind and life kind of struck and my mood changed. She's playing with her bubbles in the moonlight Smiley I made the resin word bubbles myself with resin and a uv lamp Wink Everything is hand drawn, painted, and glued down (except the owl.. I have a sheet of those cute little guys and love them Wink he was only sparklified and had detail added ... I was going for a pieced together look.

btw.. the "glitter" is Sparkle Glaze by Delta Ceramcoat on the moon and other areas... Her wings needed an even stronger sparkle.. so I used Starlite Varnish by Americana Smiley
it's hard to photograph glitter.. but, here's an upclose pic so you can see the words in the bubbles...

10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: April 2012 Birthday Swap - Discussion and Gallery on: March 31, 2012 08:19:22 PM
I am totally debating this... But, I am thinking that I need to wait a week. There are appointments scheduled every single day next week, which leaves little crafting time during the day etc.  I'd like to have the full 2 weeks crafting time Wink I have never done the birthday swap before... looks like fun! Smiley I also think I need to beef up my pinterest and wists first! Wink

Happy birthday fellow April babies!
