1  Re: Frosted glass tutorial -- How to make your own frosted glassware! in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by missgurle17 on: July 29, 2005 02:26:44 AM
So I got my armor etch in from Joann.com... I came home from work and there it was... I didn't have any glasses for I ran to WalMart came home and got busy... all while I should have been sleeping, lol. Anyways.

This was a 1 dollar glass(well actually a vase), a tester.

Then I bought 2 sets of glasses, each containing 4 glasses, I still need to go the next set. They were about $2.50 for the set, gotta love a great deal.

The pictures are blurry not the actual frostings, although I didn't really get straight lines on the ends, damn non working tape.

I think the vase is my favorite, lol. The set is for a friends birthday...maybe, lol.

2  Re: IM ATTEMPING TO MAKE THIS DRESS in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by missgurle17 on: July 24, 2005 11:25:13 PM
Actually I would suggest using a fabric with sequins already in it, even if it isn't as extreme of a sparkle.

Ya know I don't think this would be super hard...

3  Stamped shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by missgurle17 on: June 09, 2005 12:06:42 AM
So I saw a shirt at ross that was way cute...but super small. It had hearts printed on it in various (but neat) patterns. I thought, I could do something like that. And I went and looked at stamps (thought it would be the easiest way) and they were super expensive, like 5 bucks for a simple small stamp. Not cool, so I 'made' my own using clay fire and nail polish... I made this top out of some dollar walmart fabric and went stamp crazy. I really like the way it turned out, it seems a bit skaterish though...oh well...

Side detail...

And for the hell of it...

I really like how it didn't come out super clean, thats what I was going for and it gives it the perfect look.

Thanks for looking!

4  Because you can not depend on the boys! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by missgurle17 on: June 07, 2005 02:08:04 PM
It's kind of funny, yet ironic that I used this material. Anyways I will be discreet and not say exactly what it is for, lets let you guys figure that out.

So you can see it in the last picture...kind of... The first picture is slightly larger than lifesize.

Thanks for looking

5  *Corset and a Babydoll* in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by missgurle17 on: June 06, 2005 12:50:56 PM
ok so I had this pattern for a corset for over a year, but I hadn't originally bought the pattern for myself, so it should have been small. I added a few pieces and it ended up way to big *sigh*... I had a few problems with it and I spent FOREVER on it, something like 8+hours... The bottom came out kinda uneven! Oh no, lol....I need to get some lace to cover that up... Anyways here it is.

I made this 'babydoll' when I was dating a boy a few months back, he suggested it. It really was just a practice thing, used an old bra and hand sewed some material. Anyways...

6  Summer outfit...*Five pictures* in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by missgurle17 on: May 26, 2005 11:36:38 PM
Wow would this look so much better if I was thin *sigh*... I hate failure involving diets... Anyways onto the garments...

I found this fabric at walmart for a dollar a yard, it stretchs and is kind of thick...I bought four yards, and I have about one left. Made the skirt a few nights ago and the top tonight, it took about 1-2 hours for the skirt and 2-3 for the top (don't know why it took so long...) I didn't use a pattern for either. I usually suck at making things without patterns, but this time I kind of planned it out.

Close up of the top

The skirt (Please excuse the gross bug bite on my hip)

Outfit front

Outfit back (I like this one...and yes those are my panties...)

And this one...because I like playing with photos...and it looks cool...

Also if you can't tell it waist band is folded down... I made it WAY to big... I don't even need the zipper...but whatever... I doubt I'll fix it since it looks fine how it is...

So what do you guys think?

New Look 6203, It was the first skirt I've ever made, and it was really easy, easy instructions and everything. It had a good fit too. Heres a picture (not a me, from the simplicity.com website)

How I helped!

9  brown polka dot bag/tote? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by missgurle17 on: April 26, 2005 11:37:07 PM
I love making purses, it's so easy, and you don't have to worry about how good it will look on you...

The inside, I have four 'pockets' two on each side.

The other side.

And so you can get a size better, it's a bit big, actually perfect for a few school books, and the pockets will be great, might encourage me to take an on campus summer college class...

Now I just need to make a matched lined zipper pouch (they are so easy!)!
Thanks for looking!

10  Three lined zipper bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by missgurle17 on: April 18, 2005 12:43:19 AM
Ok so I LOVE making these, I won 24 zippers on eBay that were in a bunch of weird colors, and this is a great way to use them!

I need to buy a white or pink zipper for the last one though, none of mine matched...at all...

Thanks so much for looking!
