Last year while perusing craftster I came upon a most fabulous idea for an un-tree instead of the standard Christmas tree. I loved the idea so much I knew I had to replicate the idea. The original post can be found here.

I absolutely love how our version of the un-tree came out. We simply used some thick wire we had hanging around in the basement shaped into three circles and fishing line to suspend the levels downward. It was so simple and fun I suggest everyone do it! Thanks to Lelyonna for this fantastic idea!

Long, long ago I made an elephant paint chip piece for my best friend. I FINALLY got around to making another and I must say after watching rerun after rerun of Futurama and my hands still covered in a gluey mess, it was well worth it.

I adore custom versions of Guess who games. I had to make my latest version for one of my greatest friends when she turned 30. I hope you enjoy it and are possibly inspired!

I was rocking out to my favorite 80's station the other day when Bad Reputation came on. After singing at the top of my lungs (and possibly scaring the pedestrians on the sidewalk) I was inspired to make something to honor the great Joan Jett! I am by no means a painter, but I decided to try my hand at some pop art. I must say I am rather proud of myself on this one. Without further adieu I give you my finished product....

My BFF is obsessed with all things Alice in Wonderland so what would be a more fitting theme then a mad hatter tea party for her shower?!

I made all the food myself and unfortunately didn't get any pictures of the culinary delights. The shower was held early September (a little late on the posting) so I served both minestrone and cheddar bacon soups along with various finger sandwiches and a mean chicken curry salad. I was SO busy I didn't get a lot of pictures of the decor period, but thought I would share what I had.

On to the best part!

The invitations


I used photoshop to put her face in place of Alice's and used this for the front of the invitation. She registered at two places on-line as well as Target so I made custom registry cards by taking old playing cards and gluing a small piece of card stock with the web addresses to each card. They came out really cool so I'll have to see if I can get a picture of one.



As is our custom we MUST come in costume to everything. I was the white rabbit leading everyone down the rabbit hole. 



The tables were dressed with mismatched tea cups and saucers (these also served as favors since each guest got to take one home), tea pots, and white roses painted red. One of the tea pots even has the dormouse sticking out of it. 



I found these awesome fake roses in pots at Goodwill for about $4 dollars each. I took them home painted they partially red with fabric paint and ta-da!



A lot of the drinks and food were tagged with eat me and drink me labels. Tea, wine and kool aid squeezeits were served for beverages.



The party mostly took place outdoors, but inside was decorated with garlands of cards, home made mushrooms and flamingos and anything else I could find that fit the theme.

During Halloween I found these great little skeleton hands at the dollar store and I have been itching to use them (once I remembered I bought them). Well a boring evening, a cheap wooden heart, some old scrabble tiles and ribbon and WHALLA! I now have a cutey little sign that I adore!

After you've been together for years and years the mushy, cuddly monotony of Valentine's Day presents takes it toll. Last year I decided I would do something different and give my husband something he could destroy!! Afterall boys love destroying things!

I put everything in a simple red bag and labled it so he would know what was coming. I still don't think he anticipated it.

A balloon heart to pop (which for some reason looks like devil horns, but it works anyway)



A candle to burn





A box of chocolates to omnomnom





Coffee to drink



And finally tissues to sneeze on



It was really fun to put together and he liked it so I would say it was a success.

Everyone says he looks like he's a Baldwin brother - seriously. Waiters, cashiers, random people walking down the street....











He doesn't love her, but over the years I've swayed him a bit.









Okay, so when we first got together he was a total goth boy. We would always joke that he was a freak and I was a punk (see below) and with our forces combined we would one day save the world.





Nothing against babies!!! We've just decided to not have children.







This one just cracked me up. He does have giant hands though - almost disproportionately so. 

I made this Wedding present for my two BFFF's who recently joined the ranks of married individuals.

I used Living Dead Dolls purchased on eBay as my bases. I found I was able to wipe off the dolls current lip color, eye color and any other facial features using acetone. I then painted the features I wanted back on using paint markers. Both of them have extensive tattoos and ear piercings - I am not the best artist, but I did what I could using fine line Sharpies. I thought they came out decent as I had to fudge what some of them looked like. 

I had to do a bit of cutting and coloring to the hair. The girl doll I picked already had bright red hair like my BFFF, but she dyes the underside of her hair black so I tried the Sharpie method on the doll. It worked out okay - the black faded a little bit when I washed it, but she wears her hair in buns quite a bit so I just put it up and it became unnoticeable. I cut the boys hair down as much as I could without showing the weird doll scalp. My friend has quite a bit of gray in his hair so I just used a silver paint marker to give him "streaks". 

The clothing is the original they came in, but I did alter it quite a bit to fit their style. I then made a few teeny tiny bracelets and necklaces and paired them with some doll size 40's - ta-da!

Finally..... the final product!

I know I've seen a few decoupaged toilet seats running around on Craftster before so this idea is not totally my own.

One of my really good friends is a single guy who if he wants it... already has it. So I sick my craftiness on him every holiday season. 

This year to celebrate his love of comics and the Simpsons I decided to spruce up his boring bathroom. I used old Simpsons comics I had, a brand new toilet seat, modge podge and lots and lots of Krylon clear coat.

Ta-da!
