I love this! Too cute! I want to do it...is it too ambitious to want to do it and give it to him on Valentine's Day?  Undecided

I suppose I could do it for his wedding present...7 months to work on it then! How long did this take you?

I am extremely meticulous (as you can probably tell) so it took me about a month to complete. It really depends on how much you want to put into it (i.e. how much of a perfectionist you are) and how much free time you have. You could definitely make one in a weekend if you had the time though! I chose different fonts for each saying which took awhile. I've seen a lot of people handwrite the sayings though and that looks really nice as well. It would make a SPECTACULAR wedding present too!!  Grin I actually may make another for our anniversary - or something similar with a different spin on it.

Good luck! Can't wait to see the results of everyone else!  Smiley

Thanks everyone! I actually just used a regular hole punch to put the holes in the cards. Not the easiest thing, but also not as hard as I expected.

Sorry this might be an obvious question, but what's the material/stickers you put on each card for the writing?

Not at all! I actually just used a thick printer paper for the quotes. Not quite card stock thickness, but a little thicker then standard. I cut them out with various edging scissors and just glued them to the card with modge podge. I planned on clear coating each card, but never did. It has held up extremely well even without it.

19  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Hanging heart on: February 07, 2011 01:23:25 PM
During Halloween I found these great little skeleton hands at the dollar store and I have been itching to use them (once I remembered I bought them). Well a boring evening, a cheap wooden heart, some old scrabble tiles and ribbon and WHALLA! I now have a cutey little sign that I adore!

20  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Destructible Valentine on: February 07, 2011 01:13:57 PM
After you've been together for years and years the mushy, cuddly monotony of Valentine's Day presents takes it toll. Last year I decided I would do something different and give my husband something he could destroy!! Afterall boys love destroying things!

I put everything in a simple red bag and labled it so he would know what was coming. I still don't think he anticipated it.  Cheesy

I gave him a wooden heart to break

A foam heart to rip

A balloon heart to pop (which for some reason looks like devil horns, but it works anyway)

A candle to burn

A box of chocolates to omnomnom

Coffee to drink

And finally tissues to sneeze on

It was really fun to put together and he liked it so I would say it was a success. Cheesy
