1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My Beloved Monsters - 5 pics on: June 20, 2009 04:01:15 PM
After seeing Mika's music video for 'Happy Ending' I was inspired to make some little monsters of my own. One year later and Monster #20 is currently being conceived  Wink - he's being made for my 2nd baby - due to be born in just over 2 weeks! Most of them have been given as gifts - they are named after their adopted parent and all monsters have their number embroidered (some rather dodgily) on the back of their leg, because you know, they're collectible  Wink The adopted parent is challenged to photograph their monster as they go about their daily business and post the pictures to our facebook page. There are monsters currently living in Australia, Canada and the United States. They plan to take over the world!

Here are just a couple that I've gotten around to uploading pics of:

02 - Mit (Tim's monster) - he is training at the Australian Defence Force Academy. One of my favourite creations.

01 - My very first monster - and very first Softie. A little rough around the edges but totally lovable. My stepsister takes her to all her slumber parties.

03

04

05 - one of my favourites. This one is my daughter's and lives here with a few other monsters.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / zippered pouches on: June 14, 2009 01:51:01 PM
My first zippered pouches, made using this tutorial: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=22875.0

And my favourite:

The applique is actually a modified softie from Softies by Therese Laskey. The design is by Alicia Paulson.

Thanks for looking.

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Karate Guy on: June 05, 2009 01:27:48 PM
May I present to you Karate Guy! Made for my nephew who recently earned his green belt!

Next time his neck won't be so skinny and I'll move the stuffing opening. I don't know what possessed me to put the opening on his head - I've made tons of softies... but I'm fairly happy with the little guy.

My first post here - comments and criticism welcome! Thanks for looking!
