11  Re: Found or Recycled items, Wind Chime/Mobile Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by kmichele_craftyfae on: May 23, 2011 05:40:05 AM
Wow!  There are a lot of really beautiful chimes in here!!  I feel like I made the red headed step child of chimes  Cry  But I did receive an amazing set from my partner!!

She did a great job of stalking me, because I love moon and star stuff.  I am amazed by all the detailed wire work, and the beads are beautiful.  I can't thank you enough  kmichele_craftyfae!!!

I am so glad you liked your chime! It was so much fun to dig through my stash picking out all the pieces for it.

I finally got around to snapping a picture of my chime from lukenlarry! I really love the sound it creates. And it was such a huge hit with the rest of my family as well. It fits right in with the rest of our mishmash of wind chimes my mom collects. And my cat, Galahad, likes to sit under the chime watching the heart spin in the wind.

Thanks for being such an awesome partner!!

12  Paper Mache Faery in Completed Projects by kmichele_craftyfae on: March 02, 2011 05:41:00 AM
Last year I created a Gypsy ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=343605.0 ) out of paper mache. I finally had gotten around to creating one for myself, but this time a Faery. She was inspired by the yarn I had randomly picked up about a month ago. I used paper clay for her nose, ears and part of her base.

I'm really pleased with how she turned out. I might just have to get a bit more supplies to make another one at some point  Smiley

13  Re: 1 Dotee, I ATC and 4 Inchies Gallery Send out Feb. 14, 2011 in The Swap Gallery by kmichele_craftyfae on: March 01, 2011 05:43:01 AM
I'm loving the gallery so far! Everyone is quite talented!!

I received my package from Sewarty yesterday. I love it! It's so bright and cheerful which is very welcomed because yesterday it was gray and raining and I had a headache so the cheery package was perfect!

Everything together. I just love the smily face! He's little crown fell off, but I've since glued it back on. The ATC is attached to the little box (which is perfect! I now have a spot to keep my ATCs and Inchies safe) and the inchies are made out of fabric. How clever!

And a picture of the beading on the Dotee's back. Love it!

This was another great round. Can't wait for the next one!

14  Mermaid Mixed Media in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by kmichele_craftyfae on: February 04, 2011 06:13:21 PM
I've been embracing my whimsy side in my artwork lately. The mermaid was created on hot press watercolor paper using watercolor crayons, pencil and acrylic paint. The background was created with acrylic paints on bristol board. I had fun creating this piece and look forward to exploring my whimsy side more often.

I received my package from tristitia today. She went with a nature theme. She was worried that the Dotee got a little crazy, but I think it's perfect!! I love the entire package!

But wait! Where are the inchies and the ATC?

Tucked neatly inside of course!

I am totally inspired to try stitching scrapbook paper on my sewing machine now. Thanks so much tristitia!

I received my package from thisbirdsabsurd today and very much squeeled with delight.

First, I opened my inchies and fell in love. They are super cute! I love how they all go together.

Then I saw my ATC. And being a big Harry Potter fan, once again I fell head over heels.

And when I thought it couldn't get any better, guess who forced his way right into my heart..(not much forcing really. I'm a big Star Wars fan as well lol)

Everything all together:

Thank you thisbirdsabsurd for being such an awesome partner! I love my package very much!!

17  Re: WWP Samhain/Halloween Swap Round 23 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by kmichele_craftyfae on: October 23, 2010 06:48:58 PM
I received my package from whileitsraining this morning. I was hoping to post pictures this afternoon, but getting the flower gardens ready for the winter came first.

I love my package! Everything is just so Halloween-y which I'm happy with. My son and kitties even enjoyed their presents!

The whole lot:

There was 2 pumpkin shaped chalk boards with chalk. My son scooped up his chalkboard and the chalk in a heartbeat. He even brought them in the car so he could draw while we went to the store.

There was also a pumpkin basket with a ribbon covered handle full of yummies (there isn't a lot left lol), a bar of soap that smells heavenly called Artemis, some Snoopy Halloween stickers (love Snoopy!) that my son tried to claim (I had to give him a few in order to keep the rest lol), a set of pumpkin decorations with glittered stems (so cute!), a hand bound faery journal (love the fabric cover!) that I can't wait to use. There was a box of cone incense which smell really good! A very pretty set of earrings with glass beads.

My partner also included a very pretty abalone shell with a piece of quartz, amethyst, and another one (Any idea what the 3rd one is, Ani?). She also made a little picture of Freya for my altar and included some very yummy soap called Artemis.

She also made a draw string gathering bag, which is huge when it's laid flat.

Ani also included a present for my three kitties. I actually had to fend Tabatha off as she tried to pull the bag out of the box. They really do love their new cat nip toys! All three of them played with the same one (I have the other two in my dresser drawer for a later date).

Here's a very happy Orion and a new play toy (and yes, he's licking it lol).

Thanks so much for being and awesome partner Ani! I love everything!!

20  Autumn Painted Bridal Shoes in Weddings and Bridal Showers by kmichele_craftyfae on: September 20, 2010 07:10:13 PM
My cousin emailed me with a random question "Have you ever painted shoes before?" The answer..No! But after a bit of research and a trip to my local JoAnn Farbics, I was pretty confident I'd be able to save her a bit of money (a woman that her fiance knows charges 200 dollars for painted shoes) and give her something she will love on her special day next month.

The inspiration for the shoes was a picture she emailed me of her guest book.

I forgot to take a before picture of her shoes but this is the picture I got off the company's website where she ordered them from. They were a white satin.

I made two different size stencils for the leaves. I used some textile paint from Jacquard and a make up sponge (brand new of course) to apply the paint. I'm really happy with how they turned out. My cousin is thrilled and excited that they turned out just how she pictured them (My aunt and cousin were both nervous).

I showed my parents how the shoes turned out. My dad said "Hope you realize everyone you know is going to come to you to paint their shoes".

With a huge smile on my face, I said "Bring 'em on"

C & C always welcomed.

Thanks for looking  Smiley
