1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / a pretty little dress for a pretty little girl on: February 13, 2005 06:39:54 AM
my sister's maid of honor had a baby in december, and even though the dress is still a bit big right now, i timed it perfectly (hopefully) so she can wear it in the fall over long sleeves or whatever, just as she's beginning to stand.  my idea was.. fall colors=fall dress.

please excuse the awful pics/lighting.  i realized at the last minute i hadn't taken pictures and so they were taken in the train station right before i met with her to give it away.
anyway.. here are the pics Smiley

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / my REAL prom dress (part I/partII) on: December 18, 2004 08:19:46 PM

hand painted with puffpaint and brush..   i made this dress thinking it would look good on me since a) i'm not that curvy and b) the style looked amazing on the super-curvy marylin monroe.  but it really just made me look pregnant..    so instead of finishing it up with hems and paint and wearing it to prom, i left it half-finished and on the day of prom.. i created this:

i'd have to say the best part about making it was.. after spending hours and hours and long nights on this thing.. bringing out the bleach and the seam ripper and attacking it Smiley
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / my GREEN ribbon dress (that has no use for wearing in public) on: October 25, 2004 04:57:28 AM
i made this dress for prom last year..  i was inspired by a BCBG dress that had strips of dip-dyed grey satin hanging from the bottom and decided.. a) i like green better and b) i could do it myself.

so here it is  Grin cheers

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Old Gap Khakis + pink satin bow = not a shabby combination on: October 11, 2004 06:17:55 AM
i stole the bronze rings from a tacky pink pleather belt i got from a Japanese "three dollar store," reconstructed a pair of old too small gap khakis, added some pink and...

finished product!

the best part.. my <barely legible> homemade tag  Grin

the pleating was the toughest part.. but well worth it in the end, though this will probably be the first/last pleated skirt i ever make.
