1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Velcro Fabric Fusion (the iron-on kind) Opinions, anyone? on: January 10, 2010 03:07:30 PM
Has anybody used this?  Did you like it?  I'm also wondering if it's as stiff as sew-on velcro or softer.

2  Georgia / Georgia: North / In Atlanta- Looking for a sewing group who makes these pillows on: November 07, 2009 11:31:31 AM
I'd like to join a sewing group in the Atlanta, GA area that makes these for breast cancer patients.  I'm wondering if there is one in downtown or midtown ATL.  Can anybody help?

I'd like to join a sewing group in the Atlanta, GA area that makes these for BC patients.  I'm not having much luck finding one.  Can anybody help?

I posted this in 'Crafting for Good and Not Evil' but I thought it might get more views here.  Smiley

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Copper bird bracelets on: April 23, 2009 04:34:51 PM
I'm recovering from a broken rib (OW!!!).   I was on serious painkillers last week and about all I could concentrate on was making jewelry.  Smiley   I don't even want to read what I posted then-  I hope it made sense!   Cheesy

Here are some pics-  they're not the best.  I really need a new camera!

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Vintage owls & flowers on: January 08, 2009 06:15:49 PM
It's been so gray and rainy around here lately I had to make something cheerful!  Smiley

These are made of vintage plastic and metal flowers & beads, a piece of broken glass and 18 gauge wire.  I'm playing around with ways to make 'settings' for the flowers and glass pieces with wire.  I can't find the settings I want anywhere and I'm much too lazy to solder!  Wink

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Coiled Wire Bird Bracelet on: December 12, 2008 02:53:11 PM
This bracelet took a long time to make.  It might need a bigger flower on the end to balance it better but I decided to just put it together already.  Wink

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Vintage Lucite Flowers and Beads Bracelet and Earrings on: December 12, 2008 02:32:58 PM
Wonkiness aside, I like how these vintage lucite flowers combine with beads.  Wink

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Elvis/Shiva Glass Marble Bracelet on: December 12, 2008 01:45:38 PM
This is the first bracelet I made when I got seriously into making jewelry, around 2002 I think.  I still wear it a lot.   A couple of marbles have popped off over the years but I just glue them back on and go on my merry way.  Wink

I call this my Elvis/Shiva bracelet because there is a tiny bubble in the glass of the Shiva marble-  I didn't notice it until the whole thing was put together.  When the light catches it just right it looks like he's doing the Elvis sneer.  Smiley

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Coiled wire and beads pendants and brooch on: December 03, 2008 04:26:43 PM
I've had this tutorial for a long time  http://www.enioken.com/jewelry/flowerpendant-035.html  but somehow I never got around to getting the right kinds/sizes of beads.  I decided to just try it anyway with the beads I had lying around.  Smiley

This last one is a pendant I made on my own before I bought the tutorial.

They're a bit wonky but I like them anyway.  Wink
