2  Party dress and tulle skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by threadsandbobbins on: September 01, 2008 12:06:21 AM
i didnt know what to wear to my schools blast off party (it starts the school year) so i decided tro whip up something. i got the fabric at a thrift store, and the dress is actually a skirt and a top, held up with elastic. I mad the skirt ages ago, but thought i'd throw it in.

( i have a belt on the dress in all the pictures except for this one)
& Below is the skirt.there's a giant bunch of tulle underneath so it fluffs out everywhere.

..i think it looks rather cute when sitting down Wink
& this is just another skirt below,

..needs some ironing..

thanks for looking!!
have a pleasant evening

3  Rickrack and neon colors in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by threadsandbobbins on: August 31, 2008 11:42:34 PM
I made pair of overalls and a pinafore dress this summer. I'm not sure if i'll ever wear them in public, but the overalls were really fun to make. They snap up the side, and even have front and back pockets like the overalls i used to have when i was little. Smiley awwwww...

pocket on the front of the overalls for storing freshly picked daises, or goldfish.

this is a really bluirry picture of the overall fixtures

& a full sized picture. its dark , i know.sorry!i swear, i cannot take a good picture for my life.

this is from the pinafore, and below is the back. It looks a lot less sad and saggy when its on.

these are the buttons down the front, this picture is true to the real color.

thanks for looking!!! i love criticizism, so please be honest. thanks again Grin

4  I'm joining the airforce!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by threadsandbobbins on: August 31, 2008 11:24:34 PM
I bought this cool airforce fabric from walmarts 1 dollar rack and bought matching airforce buttons and somehow it turned into a vest. i had to put tons of seams in it to the get the fit okay, and its still a bit small, but i think its still pretty cool! i hope no ones offended by the fact that its airforce because i know they really mean business in the service. criticizism more them welcome & thanks for looking!

sorry, the pictures really shaky.

here you can see how its a little small...

and this is a picture of the buttons down the front

i think from all of these pictures its obvious i dont have a career in photography , but i hope they're not too bad. Thanks again!

5  TIRAMISU dress! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by threadsandbobbins on: May 14, 2008 06:44:23 PM
i found this material at walmart and   i think it looks kinda missoni & a bit 70s, but i think it works!  it's lined in this chocolate brown 2 way stretch material and there's a zipper in the side without a strap (it's kinda obvious because it makes all these lumps in the dress). tell me what you think!!criticism is more then welcome!

this is the dress! on me, it's about knee length

this is the top of the dress ,on me. theres elastic on the top edge of the dress to keep it from faling down in public...which would be horrible!

last but not least, this is a picture of where two of the skirt panels meet. there are four on the skirt and the pattern alternates between each one. i used the brown lining to make the piping-ish stuff between the panels and its at the bottom of the dress too.

thanks for looking !!!!

6  granny skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by threadsandbobbins on: May 11, 2008 07:09:41 PM
i fell in love with this fabric and decided to make a high waisted voluminous skirt out of it. it didn't turn out half bad, but my best friend always teases me that i m the only teenager she knows who likes wearing high-waisted granny skirts!!
the hem is a bubble hem at the bottom and the waistband is zig zaggy. also, the pockets are fitted into the side panels, not just sewn onto the fabric. so, tell me what you think!

this is one of the pockets and there's one exactly like it on the other side

the back of the skirt

and last but not least this is me in the skirt!! sorry it's so dark.

7  super retro bathing suit! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by threadsandbobbins on: May 11, 2008 02:11:24 PM
I've always wanted a 50s bathing suit, but they're impossible to find at stores so i decided to make one! it took about a yard of fabric and a couple late nights at the sewing machine, but i am pretty happy with how it turned out. tell me what you think!

this is the front of the swim suit layed  out on a table.it's  hard to tell in the picture, but the straps are twisted and knotted like the details on the bottom

the back is pretty straightforward

and this is me in the bathing suit!

8  hippie jeans in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by threadsandbobbins on: May 10, 2008 10:44:25 PM
Hi
this is my first post on craftster, so i hope i did everything right.. so anyways these are jeans i made out of this cool flowered denim i bought at walmart. Jeans are never long enough for me, so i tried to make mine extra long, but i think they're still a little short and they look kind of hippieish

so tell me what you think..and be brutal!

so this is me in the jeans..they  have little vents on the legs so i can get the on cause the ankles are really skinny and my feet are kind of large

thanks!
