That's a cool design with the ribbon loop going down the center! I can see them being ornaments or lovely statement earrings.

I totally love these!
43  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Black bean, butternut, & spinach skillet on: December 08, 2016 09:15:29 AM
This is a fairly quick and easy one-pot meal that I found online here and tweaked to fit what I had on hand. It was pretty tasty and satisfying!

I like when food blogs do the ingredients shot - much easier for me to take in than just a written list, so I'll do both here.

Butternut squash - about half a squash, diced
Onion - one, diced
Jalapeno - one, minced
Garlic - 6 cloves, minced
Black beans - one can, drained
Rotel tomatoes - one can (I had homemade from last year)
Spinach - about 4 oz fresh (more than half of the bag in the picture)
Spices - smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, coriander -  1 teaspoon of the first, 1/4 tsp of the rest
Cheese - grated, for topping

Not pictured - olive oil, salt & pepper

In a large skillet, heat up a couple tablespoons of olive oil and add the onion, squash, jalapeno, and garlic. Add salt and pepper to your taste, and cook until the onions soften (about 5 minutes).

Add the black beans, tomatoes, and spices and cook until the squash is soft (about 10 minutes). There should be enough liquid for it to be bubbling nicely, but if it seems dry then add some water or broth.

The last minute of cooking, add the spinach and stir it in so it wilts.

Serve hot so your cheese topping gets melty. Yum!

44  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 12 Gallery on: December 06, 2016 06:13:46 PM
I received a package from edelC in Ireland in like 4 days, which is amazing to me. Choc full of goodies!! Prepare for many pictures - we were both doing a 'small' size swap, but did some spoiling on top of that.  Cheesy

As exhibited here by the fact that she made TWO stockings, one for me and one for my partner! We'll be using them to fill for each other this year. I adore both of them!

Everything inside wrapped up all prettily, and then unwrapped:

A tiny string of lights and some cute mushrooms:

Tasty treats, with kinder eggs, woo!

A big totoro throw pillowcase and a cute zippered pouch (you nailed it with my themes Edel):

Great texture on the pouch!

A love prayer flag! So sweet.

This entrancing crackled CD clock (it's hard to photograph something so shiny) - my partner loves it, so it may end up in the bedroom. But I'm thinking of stealing it for by my craft desk.

Gorgeous tree of life pendant! Did I mention I was spoiled??

Thank you so much edelC for a wonderful package!  Kiss Even the shipping box was appreciated.

I remember one year for my stocking my mom made little peanut and pipe cleaner figurines of all our pets (which was quite a few) with paper speech bubbles of them saying funny things. They're still in our christmas box and come out every year!
