just in time, here I am!
1962  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead? on: May 02, 2009 11:12:14 AM
I'm pretty much free all summer for crafting, so as long as sendouts are before September I will be happy. In terms of crafting time, a month maybe?
Oh, and I know we were throwing out a few ideas for things other than HF and SotD, so will any of those be included in this swap officially?

OMG, it's the painting! That is so amazing. Wow.

I also love the spray! Now you can have productive days of making things yours.

oh man, those are sweet. I need to get underway with some kodama projects - I'm planning to work them into the bamboo mural in my room (have not yet started that one - I have the paint though!).

mochaxlight - kodama are tree spirits, they are in the movie Princess Mononoke.

Man, these look so great! I love all the little personalizations you did. Smiley

No pics this time because I am being lazy.

15. 3 Watchmen needle felt and craft felt plush badges inspired by crafts in the boards
16. One needle felted Kodama that wraps around my messenger bag strap and can be used as a hair tie

Some more to come soon after my swap partner posts what she's received.

Needle felted kodama! I wanna see!!

I received from hahnasay a few days ago, but I only got a chance to take pictures today. Here's a shot of the whole awesome package!

The trinkets box (Red Dwarf's black box, as explained to me in a special memorandum) made me very happy when I opened it up and looked under the lid:

In addition to the candy and stars in the black box, I found this:

ALIENS!!! Little did Rimmer know they were hiding onboard ship the whole time. I've been wearing the ring ever since I got it, and there was another one, but I've given it to lisaisab and the pair are now our "hetero life mate promise rings." Wink

There was also this sweet bag:

And this awesome picture frame! I've already found a highly appropriate picture for it, of lisaisab, our good friend, and me.

Also in the black box: red and black earrings! They are very pretty; I think I'm going to hang them in my room as decorations because I don't actually have pierced ears.

OK, so here is, like, one of my favorite things ever now.

IT'S A PEA ON TOAST. Seriously. Awesome. It makes me so happy.

There were a few more things, like a little Canadian moose (already chillin' with my Vermont moose), space stickers (stickers!), and pretty letter magnets in my name.
Also pictured in the group shot is a stack of Red Dwarf photos, which are so great! I want to have a mini-album. Cheesy

Thank you again, hahnasay! You made a great package!

I'm considering joining this, but I'll wait until the deadline is closer in case something else comes up. I'm becoming addicted to swapping... "c'mon, everyone's doin' it..." curse you craftster, I can't say no!

Sweet, nice job with that jacket. Linings are such a pain!

Project 16 is a denim ankle cuff (I may make more of these, but I'll include them in #16). Those jeans I turned into bell bottoms I also shortened, so I had these strips I didn't know what to do with. My friend lisaisab came up with the idea for anklets - perfect! I did some beadwork on this one, though I really didn't know what I was doing, and I think it came out pretty well.

AHHH you guys, I am so excited I don't even know what to say. stitch81 sent me TWO AMAZING SHIRTS!

The first one - freakin' tie-dye peace sign! stitch81 says she is new to tie-dye, to which I say "...huh?" because this is really great work.

Here's a close up (love the colors!):

The second shirt - omfg, Totoro. And guess what - she dyed this shirt as well! Such a lovely job with they dye and the stencils.

Close up of the Totoros!

Oh, and both shirts are wonderfully soft too.
I seriously lucked out, partner-wise. Thank you again, stitch 81, you're awesome!!!
