1821  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Re: Craftster Chat Room? on: November 14, 2009 10:55:50 PM
I would use a chat feature quite a lot, I think Smiley

Oh, especially if you could just talk to one person at a time, like asking your partner questions about a swap or something.

Sorry I didn't see these replies earlier - but I haven't seen the ad since election day.

The pleated fabric on the door really makes this. Nice job!

Cool costumes, angelcallie!

I have some things to update -

#36: Rainbow string of cepahlopod banners! (hit the link for more photos)

#37: Seastar stuffie (made my own pattern)

#38: Sweatshirt recon (covering up a logo for something I don't care about with a t-shirt scrap)

#39: Coat for friend's Blind Mag costume (please let me know if you can't see this picture)

#40 and 41: Repo Man outfit and helmet for me!

1826  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Sea Life Swap Gallery Under the Sea on: November 06, 2009 01:50:50 PM
I posted the cephalopod banner here if you're interested in close-up pictures!

Here's one of my pictures of the seastar; it was fun to make:

And of the bottle, which my friend actually found on the sea floor while he was diving. It's filled with beach rocks (it's what we've got up here in Maine), beach brick (broken off from lobster trap weights), and sea glass from the little beach on my campus.

It was fun to craft for you, ragdoll, please let me know before you send the second half of your package because I'm going home for break soon and you may need a different address.
1827  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Rainbow string of cepahlopod banners! Embroidery, appliqué, & stencils. on: November 06, 2009 01:41:36 PM

I made this for ragdoll193 in the Sea Life Swap, and I was pretty proud of it. I hope she enjoys it. She had some cepahlopods in her list of favorite creatures, and I really love them too so I ran with it.

The first banner is an appliquéd giant squid:

Next we have a stenciled vampire squid:

And an appliquéd cuttlefish (with 3D ruffle):

This embroidered nautilus is one of my favorites:

This stenciled octopus is the first panel I did:

The last flag is an embroidered dumbo octopus:

French knot suckers!

And here's how it would look hanging on a wall:

Thanks for looking!
1828  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Pirate swap!! XD on: November 06, 2009 12:42:36 PM
Count me in! International Talk Like A Pirate Day is always celebrated in my group of friends. This would be most excellent.
1829  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Whimsical Circus Swap on: November 06, 2009 12:38:09 PM
I would be interested in a circus swap (LOVE cirque du soleil) - depending on my availability with school and such I would be in.
1830  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / What do you think is missing from the crafting world? on: November 04, 2009 07:57:21 PM
I'm doing a project for my business class, so I'm looking for fresh ideas and demands that aren't being met. So where do you think there's room for a new business? Mail-order Jo-Ann's? Database of local craft fairs?
Any new ideas you have to throw out there would be welcome, thanks!
