1821  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Re: Wood working? on: August 31, 2009 11:20:31 AM
Whittling, I guess you'd call it! Just taking some blocks of wood and finding the shapes inside it with my pocket knives. Wood is such a satisfying medium in which to work!
I used to do a lot of woodburning and I'd like to get back to that too.

Thanks TSM! I'm also getting towards the point where I'll take a break from swaps, mostly because school is starting up again. But I'll hopefully find time for some smaller ones though!

#31 is a recon; my mom gave me this odd button up dress to do something with and it's now one of my favorite pieces! I have a feeling it's going to be a fall staple for me.

#32 Another mysterious swap item Wink

Finished item 2 and planning item 3 for later today! I'm excited about both of these.

I definitely support a woodworking board. I've been doing a bit of carving, just starting out, and it's be great to see what other people have done!
I'm also a fan of woodturning, though I don't have the equipment to do it myself.

I haven't updated in a few weeks, so here's what I've been up to:

#27 Cat ears, 3 pairs (follow the link for tute)

#28 Mysterious swap item!

#29 Paint my room (Dio approved)

That one I had been working on for such a long time, I'd prep a few walls then it would fall by the wayside again. I finally powered through it this weekend to distract myself because the boy has gone back to college early.

#30 Octopus freezer paper stencil

This one had been going for a while too - I cut out and ironed the paper months ago then lost my blue paint - I just found it while cleaning my room to paint it!

I just had a brain wave on a project I want to make - if it turns out as awesome as I hope it will, I'm so gonna make one for myself too!
