1811  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: TUTORIAL: Straight Sided Triangular Cosmetic Bag on: March 05, 2010 11:09:26 AM
So queenofdiy, after you found the dimensions for the bag I needed, I ended up using this tutorial to make it! I altered the measurements with a few stumbles, and added a pocket before I sewed up the lining. I'm really happy with it, though. So thanks for all your help! The little squares at the ends of the zipper were especially helpful.

I love it! The black accents make it look that much more professional (also that's awesome green fabric).

OK, I'm only stalking this swap but I have to say, blupaisan your work is stunning! I love how Ilmatar is reclining in the waves and how the frame becomes part of the picture. And wow! to the giant page! I love how the wall comes toward you and how the little houses go up the hill.
And stellou, I believe those symbols are "summer" and "winter" respectively.

I can never amass a significant amount of pages to post at once, I always get excited to show you all whenever my little sprees are done. Like now!

I'd like to do this with paint, but I don't have anything I can use right now. I've titled this page "sharpie headache." Wink This is a really fun technique, though! I encourage you to try it.

Thanks! The mermaid is a button I got in the Sea Life swap. Bartholomew James saw her near Barbados, but no one believes him. He doesn't really mind, though.

Pinkyk--my understanding is that craftalongs are for each year---you have to have something to post from January to December 2010--the goal being to vary your crafting experiences and projects during that year...no cheating!! Cheesy

I know some are yearlong, but others, like the Altered Journal craftalong, are ongoing. I'm probably not going to get all the boards done this year since I have traveling and schoolwork to do, so I'll continue to post my progress next year too! I'm not giving myself a deadline, but having this goal will still get me working.

Thanks for the comments on my little ones!

I briefly considered counting projects I'd already done - but then what's the point of the craftalong? I wanted to challenge myself do do different types of things.

With that said, here are my first dotees!

38.   Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects

1818  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Hissing cockroach, Pirate, and Embroidered dotees on: March 04, 2010 10:03:32 AM

I made these three for round 8 of the dotees swap - my first! After I finished them I just wanted to make more.

My first partner liked pirates and mermaids - so I made Bartholomew James and his daydream.

My next partner had this great quote in her questionnaire: "to fare on - fusing the self that wakes with the self that dreams." I based Dahlia off of that.

My last partner liked weird things... and insects! I wonder if anyone's ever made a Madagascar hissing cockroach dotee before? This is Anosy.

Thanks for lookin'!
