1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Bookmark Swap 6 Gallery on: September 19, 2014 12:00:46 PM
Take a look at the amazing moveable bookmark I received from elderflower! We share a love for the book Watership Down, so she painted a scene with rabbits in a meadow, and Keehar, a bird they meet.

But if you move the tab, a fox appears from behind a tree, and all the animals hide!

I think that's such a clever idea, and beautifully executed. Thank you again elderflower!

Aww I love Buttercup! And I'm glad you enjoy the theme mixing, blu. When that idea popped into my head I knew I had to run with it.

Here is the beautiful bookmark that blupaisan made for me! She has never read Garth Nix's Abhorsen books, but still she captured Lirael, the Dog, and Mogget perfectly. Thank you again!

By the way, anyone else super excited for Clariel coming out next month???

I'm impressed! I'd love to get more into drawing people, but I need lots and lots of practice to get to this level. Smiley

Both of mine are done! Now I just need to get an international stamp, and find a time to hand deliver the other one. Can't wait to see the gallery fill up!

Checking in - I just finished reading a book from one of my partner's favorite series! I'm going to sketch out some ideas tonight.

Project Page Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=435549.0

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Harry Potter... eggplants?! on: September 06, 2014 03:42:24 PM

So I work on an organic vegetable farm, and a few days ago I was out picking specialty eggplants. A few of them had these little growths that made them look like veggie gnomes or something, so I had to take them home with me! Originally I was just going to glue on some googly eyes and take funny pictures for facebook, but I got a bit carried away. The Harry Potter Craftalong has a challenge right now involving eggplants, and I was inspired to turn them into Harry, Hermione, and Ron. I hope you enjoy this little dose of weirdness!

I made Harry a Kale2000 racing broom, and found him a little Hedwig in my bead stash.

I made Hermione a course book (Standard Book of Spells, Grade 2), and found her a Crookshanks from my curio shelf.

And for Ron, I made a broken wand (cat whisker unicorn hair poking out), found him a Scabbers from the curio shelf, and gave him LOTS OF SNACKS.

~*OWL PROPOSAL HEADER*~
OWL Subject & Option: Transfiguration, Option 1
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Quality queen quilt
Brief Description: For my transfiguration OWL, I would like to crate one item, a quilt, using mostly my large stash of different fabrics. I don't have a pattern yet, so I'll be doing a lot of research before I even start picking fabrics!
Week 1: Find a pattern and choose fabrics, begin cutting
Week 2: Have all pieces cut and start sewing!
Week 3: More sewing probably
Week 4: Quilting and binding!
It may take longer than this, just because I haven't got a lot of time to work on it. But I really want to get it done before the cold weather gets here!
