Only one week left for thing-a-day, we can power through!

dulcet, those bracelets are very pretty! Thanks for the link, I'm pinning it to try someday.

Wulf, your carving is absolutely stunning. What a lucky swap partner!

I have three days to catch up on in this post - Day 20, a coloring book page trying to get the hang of my new copic markers. This is from Mimicry and Camouflage in Nature by Ruth Soffer.

Day 21, some origami - clockwise from the top left, there's a snail, lotus, lily, iris, morning glory, camelia, and another lotus. Can you tell I'm pining for better weather so I can garden?

And day 22, another top for a mug rug. Like the last one, I used scraps from my quilt blocks. I have to get this one finished by Saturday, since it's a gift.

WES, I wish you could come hang out in my blanket fort too, and I would feed you lava cake. Thanks for all you do for animals - my partner is a vet tech, and he has some exhausting days too.

I am a couple days behind in posting, but still making things! Thing 17 was finishing up a podfic (audio recording of fanfiction, Tamora Pierce in this case), which I'd rather not link to this profile, but pm me if you're on ao3 and are interested.

Thing 18 was finishing my mug rug - quilted, made the bias tape, and bound it up. This little sunburst will live on my crafting table.

And thing 19, today, was making a big neck gator for myself! I've had this remnant of cute whale fleece for a while, with this project in the back of my mind. I paired it with another fleece scrap I had kicking around, and the result is so cozy! I especially need it after my haircut, which is now super short in the back.

aimr, great coloring pages! They both look very cheerful.

Thing for the 16th is the top for a mug rug using scraps from the quilt triangles I've been cutting. I was excited about all the colors, and impatient to have something finished with these fabrics.

I used this tutorial for a wonky starburst. It's just the top at the moment, so another day's thing will be to quilt and bind it.

kbrison, I'm impressed that you cut all the individual numbers. What a lot of work! And cute papercut quilt squares, too.

whatthepuck, great idea for the dry erase paper! And I saw the cat doll on a different thread, I love how you represented it in that style.

Yesterday's thing was individual chocolate lava cakes, not super pretty, but very tasty and nice and gooey on the inside.

And thing 15 is more quilt triangles, 65 this time!

Lovely watercolor, Wulf! Do you do one for every day in your journal?

My thing today was a photography project - I wanted to try to get some good pictures of the goldfinches that have been enjoying my bird feeders this winter. I counted 25 out there today, which is a record for my house! I bundled myself up in very warm clothes and lay flat on top of my car so I wouldn't be too noticeable and threatening. I finally had to come inside because my toes were getting numb, but here are my best pictures:

I just got partnered with your mom for the paper & ephemera swap. The last time I did a similar swap you were my partner. Do you have any other family members on Craftster for me to swap with?  Grin

I remember that, kb, how fun! I'd say if you swap with ChameleonHound, my sister from another mister, you've collected the whole set. Cheesy

As for my thing today - when in doubt, more quilt triangles! I got 46 today, so now I'm at 136/350.

17  Re: 2016 Annual DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by Acadian Driftwood on: February 12, 2016 01:40:50 PM
I finished a 100% stash project yesterday! A Valentine's Day gift for my partner. Here's the full thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=443379.0

The embroidery was already done, and I raided my scrap basket for a few fabrics that matched the thread. Sewed up the pillow case, AND made my own throw pillow base out of a sheet and stuffing I had kicking around. I'm counting this as red theme and love theme!

Averia, I love fabric storage where you can see all the patterns! Yours looks great.

My 11th thing is a pillow that I'm giving my partner for Valentine's Day. I made its own post with more details and pictures. The embroidery was already done, but I pieced the pillow case today.

19  Vermont + Virginia lattice stitching in Needlework: Completed Projects by Acadian Driftwood on: February 11, 2016 07:40:53 PM
So I was born in Vermont, and my partner was born in Virginia. My idea for this piece was to match up the two cities by overlaying the state outlines, and mixing the color schemes for each one where they overlap, the way our two lives are now mixed. Is that too much sap?

I learned three different lattice fills, and I gotta say it's pretty fun to watch them take shape as you go! Check out Needle n' Thread - that's where I found the ones I used.

I actually did the stitching almost a full year ago, and I finally got it together to finish the piece by making a pillow that I'll give him for Valentine's Day.

I tried to pull in all the colors from the thread, and used a few things from my scrap stash. I like how it turned out, and hope he does too!

It's just throw pillow sized, 10 by 15 inches. The back is envelope style.

Thanks for checking it out!

This might be ridiculous, but I'm counting making this blanket fort for my thing today. It's formed out of a couch, futon, upside-down chairs, two blankets on the top, and lots of pillows and blankets inside! Also twinkly lights.

It's the perfect place to cuddle up on a cold, snowy day!
