2  Cat & Fox pillows in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tavernkitty on: April 23, 2010 07:31:05 AM

I started this cat pillow early last year, finished everything except the ears and had it laying around till a week ago when I realized I really just needed to sew on his ears!

Although the real cats do not seem to be impressed my partner loves it!

This is the second animal pillow I've done. The first was for a friend who requested a nine tailed white fox which I hurriedly gave to her before taking any pictures. Sad But she was kind enough to send me photos!

and yes... I really did do nine tails.

5  package 2 from savage pixie! in The Swap Gallery by tavernkitty on: August 13, 2009 05:17:03 PM
Package #2

Sorry I've been so busy! I received my second package last Saturday! Sent out mine on monday. Once again this package had nutrolls but we ate all of them before picks where taken. Let me just tell you, these are way better than paydays.

Here is the reason I've been so busy as of the past few days, his name is Alexander:

lol, and now that cuteness is posted I can dazzle you with the goods that savage pixie kindly bestowed upon me!

So I had to laugh at this, apparently we have the same choices in yarn. I started a scarf about a year ago and ran out of the malabrigo yarn I was using and well... look what showed up on my package? Hummingbird malabrigo! Lol. I even put my scarf next to it in anticipation. Also two knitted washcloths with a kitty paw and a cat on them. (close up of kitty)

Something using her best craft skill! Its a bag! an anime fighting girl bag. Literally this has been with me every where I go. I love bags. Also some local Mrs. Kelly's Chai tea and then embroidered Matrosyska dolls from my wist!

I received SIX of these guys. Heres my favorite three (they're already hanging in my kitchen!), also from my wist, of the day of the dead Calaveras.

She loves trees and loves painting them: I got two of her trees!

Even though I've never seen them, might I suggest that the Minnesota Rollergirls are the Awesome? And so is this glass:

Finally, and I've been needing one of these! secretly hoping that I would get one in a swap one of these days! a pincushion, but not just any one! A flower/monster one. Check it out. (also cool catwoman stationary she wrote her note on!)

Thank you so much savage pixie! I hope you like everything I've sent you, and hoping you'll get a laugh out of something. Hope vegas is treating you well! <3

Package #1

I received from savage pixie the other day, and I absolutely love everything! I wasnt expecting any mail either since our post shut down at noon on the third. ^.^

Everything nice and neat before I opened it all. (lol, and it was sent via amazon box. -_- I can never leave work, never!)

Everything unwrapped, which who knew this much stuff could fit into those little wrapped goodies.

In this picture we have :
#2. something edible- Gummies! She sent her fav. gummies which I also love gummies. They're almost gone. lol
#16. fav. holiday- Halloween. Which is also mine. She sent these paper mummy/frankies. I love the poolka dotted frank.
#5. something to wear- knitted bracelets. Im wearing one right now. ^.^ also this made me laugh... because something I sent her. ^.^
#12. Something local- Salted Nut Roll. I ate one right out of the box since I love peanuts, and yeah I love these things. Too bad we do not get them around here!

#17. fav. craft supply- Buttons!  I just started a small button collection so this will go nicely with them. Also she sent some nice green trim. ^.^
#8. something with fav. character- Nana from the manga/anime NANA. Also one of Vampire Knight since we both like it.
#13. something she keeps in her purse- chapstick (the shimmer is great!), and a notepad with pen.

#23. Summer essential- Head kerchief and a good book. Book= Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. which I have not read, and I actually do not own. ^.^
The fabric is a last minute add on she was going to send in packaged 2 but its so great. Im already trying to think of what to use it in. ^.^

#6. something made of paper- cards! I love this fabric on this card. I love this "Once a month I pick a few people out of my address book to send a handwritten note to." That is such a nice idea. ^.^
#19. something you collect-non-craft-  Gnome! I love the story to this guy and know how she feels. I can not pick up anything in the store because if I do... I feel like Ihave to give it a home (like stuffed animals/figurines/dolls). Maybe I watched toy story too much?
#18. Something from my fav. store- Also she works here PT. Crafty Planet. I love love love local craft stores. Nice buttons, and some thread.

And I wanted to post a close up of my favorite!

#25. Something extra- embroidered 'censored swearing!' The blue actually matches the paint on my living room wall. I love that electric/aqua-ish blue and the fact that it is a censored cuss word. So much for the win. This is going in a spot of honor above our piano. ^.^
thank you so much Savage pixie!! I love everything and I feel like I got a very interesting swap partner.

9  Re: Monster Mash in The Swap Gallery by tavernkitty on: July 01, 2009 08:42:01 PM
I received today! Which cheered me up some. (One of my cats passed away the other day.)

Something was already peeking at me before I even began unraveling the devilish treats.

First I had to read the lovely card!

Here we have- "Clancy the Cyclops Brooch- Wear him as an amulet to protect you from evil spirits, blood sucking vampires, and used car salesmen. Larry the Yeti- not to be confused with Harry the Yeti. His hobbies include feasting on the blood of small children, wreaking havoc wherever he goes, and figure skating."  I love Larry! So funny that we each sent the other a yeti.

"Hungry Monster Pouch- feed six times daily, but not after midnight. It gives him heartburn." Sounds familiar. lol, and looks like it was inspired by something on my wist! ^.^ Right now hes busy gobbling up my colored pencils.

I think this has got to be my favorite. I love this fabric! Where did you find this stuff?

And inside a message from my fav movie/book ...Dracula!

Thank you so much diablita!! you've been a excellent swap partner! I love everything so much! (and the other kitties do to, my littlest kitty had hoped Clancy was a cat toy but that got snatched away quickly from her. ^.^)

When I opened it up the first thing that I really saw was this:

It is soooo awesome. I love this! Also, added bonus... its completely reversible. Turn it inside out and you have this:

I love this stencil! <3 My partner was the best first swap partner. ^.^

Inside the awesome bag, in the pocket were three very nice items. Bella's bracelet, a green (fav color!) necklace, and second to favorite items apple earrings! I love these so much!

AND continuing to spoil me rotten... crazy4bags sent not one, not two, but three shirts!

There was also a red sash on the bag but I forgot it in my car while I took these and I've been busy on new projects so forgive me! I love it too! Thank you so much! I've been proudly showcasing the purse and shirts around for the past three days. Not to mention the earrings and necklace and bracelet. >.< THANK YOU!
