1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Planner/Organizer swap on: December 25, 2013 06:57:47 PM
With the New Year upon us, a lot of people use this fresh start to try and become more organized.  Just wondered if there would be any interest in some sort of swap geared toward planners/organizers?  custom pages, stickers, calendars, planners, etc?? I'm not able to organize, but I'd be an active participant.!!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / quick and easy Valentines on a budget for the Grandbabies on: February 11, 2013 05:50:56 PM
We moved 1,900 miles away from the grandbabies and I try to find unique little things to mail home to them.  We're on a budget and with four packages to mail home, I had to come up with something.

a big NANA hug, made with dollar tree craft foam and white ribbon

and a box of macaroni & cheese with a cute saying.

threw in a few suckers and a bottle of bubbles... I think they'll all like it.

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / just a small applique blanket on: January 12, 2013 12:07:23 AM
My grandaughter turned a year old in December.... I picked up a fuzzy baby blanket at the dollar tree, some coordinating flannel on sale at JoAnn's and some fuzzy yarn... with a little time and a lot of lovin', I made her this little blanket with her first initial appliqued in the corner. (K is for Khloee)

4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / for Brookie on: July 15, 2011 01:25:20 PM
my Grandaughter is in LOVE with shoes... and she's only 3.  So, for her birthday (today) I purchased a clearance rubbermaid drawer set in pink ($7.00) and used my cricut and random pieces of scrapbooking paper (that I've had for ages) and a few small pieces of clear contact paper that I had leftover.... and her "Brookie's shoes cabinet" was born... I'm hoping her Mommy likes it as well....

while I had the cricut out, I went ahead and made her card.

8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / photo shop is addictive.... on: November 30, 2008 09:25:24 AM
a couple more pictures I tweaked in photoshop.... I only wish I could play with this 'til I get it mastered..... don't think hubby would appreciate my quitting my job to "play" on the puter... LOL

1st set:  all three grandbabies on the couch.  took the best pose of each from 3 different pics and snuggled them closer together... (this one I still need to work on to blend the couch fabric better)

2nd set: my nephew Cayden... just showcasing his beautiful brown eyes.

3rd set: a picture of a bamboo plant my friend sent me... I tried to make an artistic print to put on a card to send back.  (I noticed the spelling error after I had already saved it... *sigh*)

4th set: my youngest grandson sleeping in my bed... removed the color from the bedding to keep the focus on him... so sweet.

9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My first photo-shopped pic.... on: November 24, 2008 01:49:40 AM
please be kind... I've had my photoshop elements 5 program for over a year...and all I've managed to do with it is crop to smaller pics and fix red-eyes.  UNTIL TONIGHT!!  with the help of a "photoshop elements for dummies" book. I removed the cluttered background from a pic of hubby, grandbabies and me.... so the focus is on us and not the junk in the background!!  I am so pleased with myself.  its a little rough but I like it.

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / the evolution of Cady's room on: November 14, 2008 08:20:00 AM
last month my daughter, Cady, and I re-decorated her bedroom.... that particular basement bedroom has gone through many changes in the past 4 years...

1. right after we moved in.. it was my sons room at first.... UGLY paneling and shag carpeting (that we promptly removed.

2.we eventually did paint the room for her brother. off-white with my feeble attempt to sponge stamp a border. yuk. (took this pic before we painted it for Cady)

3. Cady's pink and lime green room. The pink was bough full price, but the green was from the "oops" bin at Lowes. I got the paisley bedspread on clearance at walmart. Was planning on painting the hand-me-down furniture white, but never got around to it. (bad mama)

4. The latest transformation.  She wanted hot pink and leopard print... I wasn't that confident it would look ok, but I was wrong. I turned out very cute.  the top half is tan (leftover from bathroom re-do), bottom is hot pink (leftover from her earlier room re-do), bought the dark brown for the stripe and doors... found a roll of leopard print wallpaper at the thrift store for $3.. one end had gotten wet but I used a jigsaw and cut about 2 inches off then cut several strips 6 inches wide.  then just rotated to make the ends match up. got a plain tan comforter, and found a leopard print sheet at the thrift store for a buck that I sewed simple curtains and pillow cases out of.  She got the leopard flip chair at the DAV thrift store for $5.  SHE LOVES THE ROOM.

5. just a pic of her posin' in her room on Senior appreciation night in her uniform... its been over a month since we finished her room and she still loves it...

thanks for looking
