***International participants, please take note of this! You MUST keep a record of your postage receipt, if for any reason your package is not received, we will need a copy of this receipt!***

Details of swap:
In this swap, one partner (the yarnie) will be crafting one large OR one medium AND one small amigurumi (you can also discuss with your partner potential other sizes/combinations). The other partner (the poppeter) will be crafting one clothed poppet.  This is a great opportunity to craft what youre good at, and receive something you dont make yourself!

Sign-up limits:
Since each yarnie must be matched with a poppeter, it is important than we have the same number of each participating.  For that reason, sign-ups will initially be limited to 12 yarnies and 12 poppeters (for a total of 24 participants).  If there are more people interested, the limits will be expanded so long as the number of yarnies and poppeters are equal. If you are interested in swapping, but sign-ups are full, please still PM the questionnaire to the organizer, so we can keep track of interest and expand the sign-up limits if needed.

Things to keep in mind:
1. Flakers will not be tolerated.
2. This swap has a mandatory weekly check in. This means that you must post (at least) once a week in the discussion thread in order to keep both your partner and us, the organizers, in the loop as to how your crafting is progressing. We will be keeping a record of such posts and if you have poor communication, it will be noted in your feedback.
3. If you have not heard from your partner for awhile or notice that your partner has not been active on Craftster for a while, and you are feeling concerned, PM the organizers! Or if for any reason whatsoever you have concerns, feel free to PM us!
4. We will not approve anyone who has multiple feedbacks stating that they have poor communication, have not used a DC#, or have consistently been late senders.
5. Everyone is expected to send on time.  If you are going to be late, you must notify us ASAP (BEFORE the send-out date!). Those who are late and do NOT notify us, will receive negative feedback which will not be removed or corrected until we receive a DC# and the package is received by your partner.
6. When you send your package, PM the organizers and your partner to let them know its been mailed, and give them the DC# so they can track the package.
7.  Posting photos in the gallery is mandatory, and failure to do so will result in a comment in your feedback. If you do not have access to a camera, please contact your partner and ask if they can take pictures of both packages which they send/receive.
8. If you are an international swapper or sending internationally and are unable to get a DC#, you must retain a copy of your shipping receipt. If for any reason your package goes missing and you do not have a copy of the receipt to provide us the organizers, you will have to resend to your partner.

To contact the organizers, send a PM to mama24boyz.  In the subject line, put Poppet/Amigurumi Swap and sign-ups, question, sent, received, etc.

44  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 86 ENTRIES / Lana Portrait Ghan on: May 03, 2013 07:22:53 AM
YAY!!  A challenge I can enter!

Underthemountain invited me to the IYP swap last round.  I had swapped with her before and she always spoils, she is such a great person, I knew I had to make her something really special and I knew just what it would be.  Averia helped by sending me a beautiful pic of Lana, most of you probably know Lana, our little craftster child  Wink  I got a pattern made from it and some yarn and went to play!!!  It took me a while to get it done, the colour changes are very tedious, some rows take 30 - 45 minutes and others take just 5, depending on the colour changes.  Once you get to the middle though and you can actually "see" what you're making, it gets so much easier to make because you just get excited to see more of it!!  I guess I should mention that its crocheted, in case you wondered.  Tongue

Anyways, on to the pic, unfortunately I only took one, but its a good one.  You could also check out underthemountain's profile pic for a different view.

My partner in the Triple Vs Swap had a cute little Alice on her pins. I tried to make one similar. I love how it turned out!

And she needed a white rabbit to keep her company!  Wink

Here's the two of them together

MAGIC YARN BALL SWAP!!

You will send your partner a project kit consisting of a one (or more) skein pattern and yarn of corresponding weight/length for the pattern. The really fun part is that you will first make the yarn into a "magic yarn ball."  This means that you re-wind the yarn yourself, hiding little trinkets and treats inside the yarn as you go.  Some ideas already suggested include tiny toys, candy, crafting supplies, jewelry, etc.

Since we're all crafty people, it goes without saying that we should craft some of the treats ourselves. You will be required to have 15-20 things in the yarn ball and at least 4-5 of them should be small crafts made by you. If you are sending more than one skein, you are only required to send one MYB.  The additional skein(s) can be sent as is.

Also, while I know not everyone can afford it, if its only one skein, try to get the nicest yarn you can afford. Im not saying go buy a forty dollar ball of cashmere yarn (unless you really want to, in which case you can be my partner!) but try to get something youd be excited to receive. I will try to group partners by interests, as well as how much they're able to spend on the yarn.

When you sign up, let your partner know if you already know what you want the yarn for ("I would like yarn so I can make the MagKnits Sophie Bag"); or, if you have a general idea ("I would like yarn and a pattern for a felt handbag"); or, if you just want a surprise pattern. If you have more than one idea for a pattern, feel free to give your partner a choice of patterns (or books) to choose from.
*PLEASE do not ask your partner for a photocopied pattern from a book. This is against copyright laws.*

-In this swap discussion feel free to talk about one skein patterns you love, good websites with patterns, and places to get yarn some people may not know about!
Also, if youre not a member of Ravelry yet, I suggest you get yourself on the list. They make it really easy to find wonderful patterns online and its totally free.

*Special thanks to previous MYB organizers from whom I shamelessly borrowed most of this information!
