1  Re: Make a Purse & Fill It Swap (Round 6) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by opheliapoe on: February 18, 2011 10:54:16 AM
I received from Miss Barbara earlier in the week, and even though I took pictures as I was open everything... I just haven't had a minute to upload and post them til today.

Everything was AWESOME!!! I loved it all. The purse was very nicely put together and I've been using it for the past few days, so I know that its pretty durable. It's crocheted on the outside and lined with a cute glittery fabric. There is a fabric pocket inside the purse, and a crocheted pocket on the outside under the flap. Sorry for the poor quality pictures. My camera has gone missing, so I am having to make due with cell camera pics. Anyhow... Get ready for a TON of pictures to demonstrate the sheer awesomeness that is my purse and fillers from Miss Barbara!!!

Here are pictures of the purse and all the extras all wrapped up, and then unwrapped!

The rest will be thumbnails so that this post isn't too terribly long. I took a lot of pictures... lol.

Here are detail shots of the inside of the purse, the crafted  extras, and a shot of the awesome beading on the zippered pouch she made for me. I can't believe that she does all her sewing by hand. Its is so neat and even and the stitches are so tiny and perfect! I do not have the patience for all those stitches and definitely not all that beading. But, it is awesome!!!

I have really enjoyed this swap so far, and I can't wait to finish up and get your package out to you, Miss Barbara! Thank you for being such an awesome partner, and I hope that you love your package as much as I love mine!!

Thanks to our organizer and co-organizer for putting together such an awesome swap!!!

2  Re: Sweet and Easy Valentine's Day Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by opheliapoe on: February 14, 2011 10:01:48 AM
I got my package from dablondeemu the other day! Sorry it has taken me so long to get pictures up, but I've been a little preoccupied this weekend. We just bought a house!!! Anyhow... I got a nice package, and here are the pics Smiley

The little bundle with the flower on it was a knitted heart.

In the brown pocket on the front of the card was this little wire cloud with beaded rain drops and a heart Smiley

Inside the card was this cross stitch on card stock of something my husband says all the time. He thought it was cute and he hung it on his desk at work!

Then, in the brown wrapped package, there were some cookies. I was lucky to get a picture of them since my kids were hovering around me singing about wanting cookies... lol.

Thank you, dablondeemu for a very thoughtful and lovely package! I hope that everyone has a great Valentine's Day today!!  Grin

3  Re: Keep Me Warm Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by opheliapoe on: January 28, 2011 03:20:45 PM
Yesterday, I got my package from blushingbluegrass!! Let me tell you... There was a lot jammed into a little box! I really liked everything Smiley The kids wanted to model, so try to overlook their cuteness and focus on the swap goodies Tongue

First, there was a set of a Harry Potter themed hat and arm warmers. My daughter took the arm warmers and played with them for several hours last night. I discovered that arm warmers also make good leg warmers and robot arms. Who knew?

Sorry for the crap cell phone pics. My camera decided to have a fussy day and not work properly. Here's a better view of the hat.

Next was a sewn scarf with a pocket in it. My son thought this was the coolest thing on the planet.

Then, for the drink accessory there was a green and black checkered coffee cup sleeve which fits my favorite coffee cup perfectly. She also included two bars of lavender cp soap out of her first ever batch. I am excited to try these. They smell lovely Smiley

For the hot drink, she sent me some loose leaf chai tea from a local shop and a tea strainer. I couldn't get a shot of the strainer because my husband was busy trying to drink all the tea before I could get any Tongue

Thank you so much, blushingbluegrass for a great swap package! I'm still working hard on yours, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed mine. Since I didn't get the best quality pictures, feel free to post them if you have better ones Smiley

4  Re: Pet Lovers Swap R2 (Signups 12/31-1/14 Sendouts 3/7) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by opheliapoe on: January 03, 2011 09:06:14 PM
OMG! I'd REALLY like to see a picture of Beans!!! Can you post one???

This is Beans. He's the runt of his litter. He's the most loving, playful, adorable little puppy I have ever had the pleasure of having in my life. Even my big, tough, rocker hubby melts around this dog. When we got him, he was only 4 weeks old. His mother died about two weeks after giving birth. But, as happy as he is, you would never know he started out his life being an orphan Wink

This is his sister. We decided to name her Lucy. I couldn't get a good picture of her. She just got here today. We were only going to take Beans in because the other two puppies supposedly went to good homes. But, the people who took Lucy couldn't give her the time she needed. They knew that I could. Beans was happy to see her. She is still a little skittish, but she is getting used to it here. They played and jumped around earlier this evening. I'm sure she will be into everything tomorrow just like Beans Smiley Their coloring is alike. But Lucy is much bigger than Beans. And her tail is short and stubby, while his is long.

5  Re: I <3 Owls Swap Gallery Sendouts 6/7/10 in The Swap Gallery by opheliapoe on: June 09, 2010 01:53:48 PM
I got my swap package from quaggy today. Let me tell you, I feel like I need to send her at least three more boxes of stuff to equal up to the awesomeness she sent me!! Here it goes.

First up, we have the most awesome button art! It is so cute!! My walls are pretty sad, but I think this makes them a little happier Smiley My favorite part are the little flowers. So precious!

Then, we have a gorgeous embroidered tea towel. It is way too pretty to ever use as a tea towel! I think it will have a new home as my kitchen curtain. I have been meaning to sew one for ages, and if I use this I might actually enjoy staring at my window while I do dishes Smiley

Very rarely do I see anything done in plastic canvas that I love, but I LOVE THIS! It is the most awesome memo holder ever!!

As if that wasn't enough, she also made my kids something! She made each of them big, fluffy pillows with their names appliqued on the fronts. Then, you flip the pillows over and there is an owl-shaped chalk cloth panel on each pillow. She sent chalk and an eraser to go with them. My daughter LOVES pillows and blankets. That's her in one of the pictures trying to "go nigh nigh" while I'm trying to get pictures. She is on the floor hogging two of the pillows right now. lol

Then there are the extras. She sent a ceramic owl that she was going to paint a flower on, but didn't have time too. That's okay, though. He will look more realistic when I sit him in the window sill in the hall to creep my hubby out who hates owls after watching the Fourth Kind! Then, she sent a cute owl card making kit and a clay jewelry kit!

There were adorable little owl note cards attached to each item that I completely forgot to get a picture of. Thank you so much, Robin for all of the awesome things you made! I love everything and my kids absolutely love their pillows!! I hope that you like what I made you as much as I love my package Smiley

6  Re: another (old fashioned) random gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by opheliapoe on: June 06, 2010 10:07:09 AM
I got my package from SAHMama on Friday!! Between finals for my online classes and my oldest son's birthday stuff, I just now have time to post pics. My camera, for some reason, isn't being cooperative. So, my pictures are not very good at all. But, I loved everything!

This is a really neat book cover. It has a zipper and pockets to hold the covers of the book inside. When I started looking at it, I noticed it was just about the same size as my netbook. Its a perfect fit. So, I may use it for that instead! Here's a shot of the inside of it:

Too cute! Please excuse my messy desk. lol

Next is a gardening apron. Its really cute and will come in really handy when I am out watering and pruning my plants!

These slippers are extremely comfy! The outside is a cute cotton print, and the inside is a very soft, fleecey material.

Then, there were these adorable I-spy bags for my kids. My two-year old daughter has not put hers down. She keeps bringing it to me to show me all the neat stuff in it Smiley

I could not get a good picture of these for the life of me! But, they are a set of 8 crochet stitch markers. They are the cutest little ceramic owl beads. 4 are yellow and 4 are pink.
And last, but not least...

A Bella bracelet! I will be wearing this when I go alone (because my hubby refuses to go to anything Twilight related) to watch Eclipse!

Thank you so much Sarah! I loved everything!! I hope that you enjoy the things I sent to you as much as I am enjoying the things you sent me Smiley

a batman stocking and crayon roll-up for my son.

a painting of spiderman for my son, a hat and some shorts for the baby-to-be, and some christmas crafting supplies.

and finally, a stocking for my daughter and a stuffed block for her also.

i recieved a lovely package from dragonmama today! i know she felt badly about sending late, but it was worth the wait. i was only able to get one picture of the whole lot of things because my mother-in-law pretty much ruined my camera when she borrowed it.... so, dragonmama...if you have better pictures you would like to post, please do!

there was a really awesome apron with a matching hot pad. can't wait to put these to good use.
then, there was a really nice crocheted set with a shopping bag holder, two what i think are dish washing pads? and possibly a trivet? and two awesome swiffer covers.
then, for my kiddos... she made my daughter two really pretty pink hats, a robot for my boy (which couldn't have come on a better day since he isn't feeling well), and a yellow hat for the baby i'm currently incubating.

i really loved everything! i guess you were worried about the crochet set because it had a little orange in it? it's really pretty. there was nothing in that box that i didn't like!! thanks for a great swap Smiley

i received my awesome package today from craftydeb!! i'm soooo excited! i loooovvvee everything Smiley

first, here's a picture of everything...

sorry for the crappy pictures. short of taking stuff outside and taking pictures of it in the mud, this is the best lighting in my house.

these are the awesome sugar skull patches she machine embroidered for me.

this is the beautiful knitting needle/crochet hook roll that i already stuffed all my needles and hooks in. the outside fabric is the neat colorful chinese zodiac animals on black print.

then, as if that wasn't enough... she made me some awesome little zippered pouches. the little round one also has the chinese zodiac fabric on the non-zippered side.

and, there is a great little reusable shopping bag.

and, my little treat was some fun nail polish in two shades of pink with a fast dry coat. and i got a pretty little zebra print note card explaining everything with a picture of some rockets in her hometown. my son tried to steal the picture. lol

craftydeb, thank you for an awesome first swap for me! i absolutely loved everything!!
