11  Re: What can I make with Sock Yarn besides socks??? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Sherrie B, UT on: May 31, 2010 07:05:50 AM
I liked using sock yarn on this shawl. It drapes well, it's light & warm at same time--good for spring through fall you know? this one took 4 skeins

I'm sure knitters can make same pattern (I'm a crocheter)

I Love Ravelry---it's AWESOME

How fun to receive a second little surprise! That kitty fabric is adorable and the suncatcher that goose made is very sweet Smiley.

I received a special treat too! Sherrie B sent me the nicest thank you gift for angeling for her - stitch markers!! They are so cute and I needed more markers desperately. They also came with a lovely message about lessons that can be learned from turtles.

Thanks Sherrie! Totally unnecessary but appreciated very very much Smiley

Wow they look better than when I sent them ! LOL you are very welcomed

I love (totally) that kitty suncatcher!

13  Wedding present Shawl in Crochet: Completed Projects by Sherrie B, UT on: May 22, 2010 08:48:19 PM
A Friend wanted a shawl for her wedding to dance with, Turquoise is suppose to have a direct communication link with her ancestors and I added little jingle bells throughout the fringe. I started at the top-chained the length I thought would cover her arms wells & tappered down with HDC & DC  from there, took about 1-1/2 Pounds of love to complete including the fringe. It was presented & she was so thrilled!

#3-A cute as a button Spring Flower (no watering required & still looks good!)

And last but not least a Wonderfully made "grumpy" Bear! Isn't he just the Bomb?

19  Re: Murder and Mayhem Swap Gallery (1/20/2010 Sent 03/10/2010) in The Swap Gallery by Sherrie B, UT on: March 29, 2010 06:56:21 PM
It was a particularly weary long day at the office. People yelling wear you down. I was glad when it was finally over. All day the clouds threaten rain even though the temperature was in the high 60s for the first time this year, the wind blowing strong made it feel more 40s. Forget hairspray, the hair was mussed all day long.

I slowly climbed up the dark stairwell to my apartment , the clouds dimming the sunlight even more (the automatic light no where near coming on) As I entered my tiny abode I was greeted with the normal exuberance of my special niece "You Have a Box!"
Strange I wasn't expecting any boxes today. I had thought to myself. Then as I prepared dinner for the two of us, she was talking non stop (as usual) and again mentioned  THE BOX

After we ate I pulled out my trusty shears & opened the box to find Several mystery white wrapped packages and this note : "Read after opening" and a Crime Scene tape Bookmark:

Upon Further investigation The next package revealed one of my favorite readings  JAMES PATTERSON! A soft bound book I have not had the chance to delve into yetwe all have a few guilty pleasures.

Even more mysterious surprises awaited me as I opened the oblong soft package to discoverthe blackest yarn my eyes ever laid upon (I hear it talking me, begging me, coaxing me to create something on hook or needleperhaps a what? A toothless dragon?.

But the I found a smallish square package & not wishing to hold off any longer I RIPPED it open (gently of course, I've been around the block at craftsters a few timesnever rip crazily on anything)  Book Labels from my Friend over at the Las Vegas CSI Dept!

Lastly , as I was exhausted from all the excitement, my weariness replace with uncanny ability to giggle like a school girl, I came upon the most prized article in the box. I can tell by the square shape & gentle wrapping it was a handmade marvel of.Miss Marple ShadowBox! This will be in my new house in a place of Honour!

Thank Laura/ Atellix  I love it ALL! & Yes that bibliophile of a DH will have to keeps his hands OFF heheheheheh
