1  UNITED STATES / Colorado / craft nite! on: December 17, 2003 08:11:29 AM
mis amigas and i have a craft nite going, it's on Tuesday nights and somewhere in central denver.  we move it around every week so email me or something and maybe you could come too - it's very calming and enlightening. cheers!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / engagement gifts on: October 02, 2003 03:23:28 PM
i want to make some cool engagement gifts for my friends - i have three couples i know who just got engaged.  let's be serious, i can't afford anything.  if it was just my girlfriends i know i could make them something, but shouldn't i make something that's kind of coupleish?  anybody have any suggestions?
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / high school jansport backpack on: September 24, 2003 04:18:07 PM
so i've started carrying around my old backpack from  high school all the time again, and it is so boring and so ugly and plain.  i am tempted to safety pin patches all over it like the high school kids do, but there's got to be something that's a little more appropriate to someone who's not in school anymore.  i am starting to think that this is a lost cause and maybe i should just resign myself to this ugly backpack.  sigh.
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / non-cheesy scrapbooks on: September 24, 2003 09:21:49 AM
i have all this stuff that i save, movie stubs, random pictures, programs, cards, and art from my elementary school students, and i'm sick of them just being in a bunch of boxes - i want to make some kind of scrapbook that is not cheesy and expensive and covered in those weird stickers - what's the best adhesive to use for this kind of thing?  anybody have any brilliant ideas?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Hats! Various hats! on: September 14, 2003 03:56:22 PM
since i'm growing out my hair, and i have a terribly short attention span, i've been making small hats for a while, and i wanted to share them.
the grey hat and the purple hat thingie are from knitty.com, and they were both super easy.
the beret is from lionsbrand.com, and it was also supereasy.

sorry about the annoying pictures.  I'm taken, guys, so don't get any ideas.  cheers!
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Decoupage Table on: September 14, 2003 03:52:59 PM
i bought this table for cheap cheap cheap at Kmart, and instead of giving it to my brother to put in his college apartment, i decoupaged it with stuff i had lying around the house.  then i lacquered over it, which was disgusting, but worth it.  cheers!

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Marie Claire Idees on: September 10, 2003 09:04:39 PM
yeah, this is a french magazine, but i picked it up one day at a borders and i loved it - not only did it have great pictures for me to decoupage, but it was loaded with ideas.  some of them are not my style, but a lot of them are, and they do give the instructions to make everything in the back of the magazine (although they are in french).  i actually get this one delivered from france to my house in colorado.  cheers!
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / embroidering album covers on: September 10, 2003 08:56:46 PM
i've had this hankering to embroider album cover pictures into seat covers for a set of chairs, but i haven't gotten it off the ground yet.  does anybody know a good computer program that could transfer pictures into patterns?
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / best book to learn knitting on: September 10, 2003 08:53:37 PM
I swear I learned everything about basic knitting ever from "Knitting for Dummies" - i was really hesitant to buy the thing because i was not cool with admitting my "Dummie" status, but it ended up being the awesomest book ever - i made hats, scarves, socks, it's my favorite reference book ever.  cheers!
10  UNITED STATES / Colorado / thrifty joints in denver on: September 10, 2003 04:18:15 PM
hey - i just moved to D-town from boulder, i'm looking for good thrifty boutiques or cool stores to buy cool 2nd-hand clothes - i've already spent quite a fortune at the Buffalo Exchange (both of them) - but i want the inside scoop on everything else -
P.S. anybody else in Denver?  cheers!
