21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / little black dress on: July 06, 2008 07:00:23 PM
So On thursday night I found out that my cousin and aunt were coming into town
and that the next day we were going to the star trek exhibition in San Diego :]
so i thought id make a dress for that
.. only i ended up not even wearing it
ha
this was the first time i ever put a zipper on a dress
so its pretty messed up
oh well
p.s. it looks better in person

feedback is appreciated :]
thanks for looking!
EDIT:
I did not use a pattern.I just kinda figured it out
22  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / pink zombie blood splattered dress on: July 03, 2008 04:52:36 PM
hah well I've never made a dress from scratch before
so i just kinda went to town with some stretch knit fabric from joanns
then i used a dye and just kinda threw it on there and i thought that If there was a pink zombie and I killed it near a white version of this dress it might look like this
now it is washed and i'm pretty proud
the straps are braided

Feedback is very very appreciated
thanks Cheesy

I found this beautiful/cheesy fabric at joanns on clearance
its has moose's and its like a very soft cotton
for the life of me i cant think of the name of it
its very warm and soft and a winter fabric

FLANNEL!!

I wanted to make my boyfriend (edward) a button up shirt kind of western style with a tan yolk and such
Im not a complete noob at sewing but i'm still a beginner
also is there no free patterens for mens shirts?!
I found a few Burda ones but i havent had very good luck with them in the past
any ideas or helpful tips are appreciated
thanks :]

24  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / my first shirt on: July 01, 2008 07:57:30 PM

Well Ive never made a shirt from scratch before

well i used a burda pattern http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/show/36
It looked cute enough on the model!!

sorry my pictures are sideways...

its a lot less flattering in person..
I think i'll give it away
also I'm wearing a black tank top under it since I fits my body all sorts of crazy

25  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / skirt into dress on: July 01, 2008 07:50:31 PM

so I had this lovely skirt that I bought at the Salvation Army the day after Christmas for $2.00 and it was a very comfy jersey/knit fabric
the only problem was that it was too long and unflattering
Before: (sorry about the blur)

and after I took every piece apart I realized that I could have just adjusted the top but whatever

and an action shot (I'm sorry I look so stupid, I wore this to take my senior portraits ha. and yes with the tiara)

also i have no idea what my hand is doing.
maybe I'm getting ready to punch a tiger?
...maybe
