Last year in ceramics we had an assignment to make a face mug, mine started as a wanna-be johnny cash then started to morph into this. Then I glazed him wayyy to much which ended up being perfect for my taste, except for the fact that he got stuck to the kiln shelf hah

I made two summer skirts while watching about 8978972 hours of the secret life saved on my tv.


the first was made out of a thrifted dress that I have reconed about 4 times.

I basically just cut up the old dress and made a big cylinder then gathered the top and sewed on the elastic, in the process sewing into my finger nail

then I made this out of a thrifted muumuu. I did the same as the first but since the fabric had no stretch I added a top band and an exposed zipper in the back

I had a nightmare with the fabric unraveling around the zipper so i added muslin bias tape then sewed the zipper over it to reinforce it.

Wow its been forever since I've posted but I swear I've been busy

well on to the story
I wanted a cute dress for our senor dinner dance and i made this in one day with help from my mom
I had to run to literally 4 or 5 joanns to find the fabric which i had bought over the summer from walmart.
It was cute and had parasols all over it
on to the pictures!

Yesterday I came home from school super bummed that we didnt have school the next day (today)
so i thought I'd cheer myself up buy actually starting on one of my new years resolutions
which is to make at least 5 dresses for myself that I would be completely satisfied with (the key point is that I have to be happy with them)
and well
I took off the shirt I was wearing and made it into a dress hah
sorry totally forgot to take a before picture
(actually i think before pictures jinx me)
it was just a tshirt ,pretty fitted but stretched out at the bottom
I bought the shirt for like $3 at the thrift store a long time ago
and I used a nasty black stretch shirt my mom gave me a while ago
its basically a tube with a stretchy tube attached

ALSO please excuse the headband hah its actually the neck of the original shirt and i thought it looked funny on my head.

For Advanced Graphic Arts class we made a notebook with a laminated cover and a thick board back cover
there are lined pages (designed by me) and blank pages (or my massive amounts of doodles)
they are bound with a spiral thinger
the machine that punches the holes and bound the back was so cute
it literally must have been like 50 years old

So I've always wanted to be a slutty 80's girl
with a snake skin skirt and dance on the hood of a car
now.... i just need the car

no pattern just a rectangle with a seem on the top and bottom, and stretch lace on the bottom edge
it doesn't stay up all that well but that's okay :]

well i finally got a new serger

and well i had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday so i was stuck at home and I made this

so last week I went to a halloween party and i didnt know that I was going until like the day before
needless to say, being the crafty person I am (not) I desided to change my then costume (gogo from killbill) to bettie page from the painting Dont Tread on Me

I made the dress out of red vinyl and the slip/petticoat is black lace and tulle
no the best but in the end I'm pretty happy with the result
I also ended up ripping the dress apart like 3 times to fix the bottom
haha

the only downside to my dress is that I'm extremely tiny in thr chest area so i basically walked around holding my boobs up hah but it was worth it
the bottom pictures are from Halloween I didnt get pictures of the dress from the party (and yes the dress was different at the bottom)
