11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Summer Halter Dress on: May 09, 2009 04:10:13 PM
This is a dress I started last summer. The top came out all wrong and it sat in a box until today.
The top is still a little messed up but at least I could do something with it.

My dress form doesn't fill the top out the way I do.
The issue with the top is that when I am wearing it... in the middle where the two breast peices meet.. it is loose.
Any suggestions on how I can fix it?
I don't have the funky thing going on in the very top like it the pic when wearing it.

I thought of adding a non functional button to the center..?

The back:

It ties around the neck and in the back.

The dress has been hemmed and topstitched since these pics were taken.
I love it and hope to get the center of bust figured out. I am so happy I could make it work. I thought it was hopeless Undecided

Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.. I would love to hear  Grin
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Halter Maxi dress. on: May 09, 2009 03:13:06 PM
So.. I was bored today and decided to finish this. I started it like a month ago Roll Eyes

The top of the dress looks funny on the dress form. It doesn't look bunched up like that on me.
I need to trim the bottom and I don't plan on hemming it.

Let me know what you think. TFL  Grin
13  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Bagsket ---> eeerrr..Kind of like it. on: May 06, 2009 03:17:24 PM
Hey all =)

I made this a while ago. It is from a tutorial I found here on craftster.
I made mine bigger and didn't add the handles as I use it for bottles of lotion and body sprays.

I cut the squares from matching fabric scraps and the tan part on the bottom is from a pair of slacks. I like the texture on them =)

I plan to make another for one of my sewing desks.

If I come across the tutorial later..I will add it to this post.
I know this is something simple..but I like the way it turned out.. and it really helped me to get better at sewing straight lines. hehe.  Roll Eyes

14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Comfy Summer Top on: April 29, 2009 06:32:21 AM
Yay! A wearable shirt! lol. I used the same fabric but it's wrong side out on the bottom. I was goign to make the whole top this way but I thought the words might look neat on the gathered top part. It says apple bottoms all over it. I grabbed like twelve yards of it for $1 a yard. for practice mainly b/c it's stretchy and very light =)

It doesnt really look that funny. I think it's the way I am standing.

The bottom edge isn't finished. I think I want to do the lettuce edge.

The back:

ETA: The back doesn't sit like that. I think it's just caught up.
The tie on the back of the neck is actually the straps that havent been place yet. The other two straps are my bra and tank top Roll Eyes

There is also a thicker tie on the top edge of the back but I don't think you can see it.

One more pic to show the fabric:

Thanks to all for looking. I ♥ C+CC

15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Black w/white polka dots. Dress. on: April 16, 2009 02:22:15 PM
I made this dress last summer. No pattern. I did use a tut. from www.whatthecraft.co m for the bust. If you can't tell..I had to squish it on my dress form. lol. I must have gotten a little bigger in between making this dress.. and my duct tape helper.  Roll Eyes

The skirt is a basic circle skirt. My intentions were to make a tulle underskirt for a little poof. I am a huge procrastinator though.
Thanks for looking  Grin
16  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Simple and Super Comfy Convertible Maxi Dress. on: April 16, 2009 12:27:44 PM
So I am finally going to post something I have made. Everything You all post is so fabulous and I feel .. well .. a little intimidated!

Closeup for fabric detail. Yup. One dollar a yard from WalMart. I absolutely ♥ WalMart!

Sorry for the not so great pics. I will change them if I have time later. I was in a rush taking the pics and can't wait to post. Here is the long version:

& I also like it short but I won't cut it b/c I love it both ways so I think I am going to add some buttons (maybe) to put it up for a shorter version like this:

This may be the first thing I have made that I will actually wear! Besides some pj pants and some tank tops. Let me know what you think. Good or bad =)
17  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / tutus for the girls! on: November 15, 2008 03:39:38 PM
I have lots of nieces ranging from 8mos to 5yo. So I thought it would be ..not only fun for me to make these but they will absolutely love them... I hope =). These will be part of their Christmas gift from me.

I still have a few more to make & I got three done after the pics were taken.

I am going to get some more black tulle to fill out the pink and black one a little more.

I love how these are turning out. & They are so simple.

I think they'll have lots of fun with these!
18  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / PJ Pants for my niece =) on: November 15, 2008 03:09:51 PM
I used the tut in the list. It's called pants in an hour. SRy..I don't know how to do links =(

These pants have two layers. The Dora fabric used to be a sheet and the pants are fully lined with soft flannel with purple flowers on it.

I'm kind of proud of these..on to the pics =)

Action Shot:

& I think she likes them. We tried them on when she got up from her nap and she is still wearing them =)

Thank you for looking! C & C Welcome!!
