1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Thanksgiving / Got Bored.. Made a Wreath on: September 24, 2013 05:50:29 AM

Quick and easy scrappy wreath. I bought a ton of ribbon after making this so may add some or do another wreath.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Sewing for a larger 6yo girl ?? on: July 12, 2013 07:59:09 AM
Hey all. I have two stepdaughters 5 &6yo. The 5yo is tiny and the 6yo is very large for her age. I am trying to make clothes or revamp clothing to look better on her for her to feel better about what she is wearing and herself in general. I like to dress her in a lot of empire waist type shirts.. and/or skirts with leggings underneath as she is in between a size 10 - 12 jeans and no jeans that I have found ever fit her right as she has no butt but a big belly. I am looking for any other ideas as to what I can make for her. She has very low self esteem and it makes her a very mean person towards the other kids at school but she can also be the sweetest girl.
Anyways.. back to topic.. I am searching for ideas on different things I can make for her. If anyone else has a little chunkster, please help!

Please don't take this post the wrong way! I love her to reese's pieces and just want to make her feel better about herself. We exercise 3 times a week and that seems to boost her (= up but it doesn't change the way the clothes fit. Thanks so much
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / cincher belt thing. on: September 16, 2009 01:04:27 PM
Inspired by Carbonated. Here is hers: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=260608.0

I really love it in the pinstripe!

Mine is made from some fabric I had laying around. It is scrap from a corset I'm working on. (my 1st).

I think my pieces are a little lengthy considering I'm only 5'2
Wow..It looks like I have no shape from the front..haha.

It is also tied too tight in these. It's kind of hard to do. I put a zipper up one of the sides to make it a little easier.
Let me know what ya think (=
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / kimono style top on: September 15, 2009 05:48:49 PM
I kind of like how it turned out. I plan to make another with some heavier fabric...and to make the top pieces a little longer. Then hopefully it won't do that funky thing in the middle.

Any other suggestions as to why it did that?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Lots of Tutus. on: June 17, 2009 05:50:04 AM
I have a lot of nieces. The tutus were great gifts for them..even with their varying ages!
& Not only do they like them...so do the moms =)

These pics were taken on Easter. They thought it would be neat to have them all wear them together. I have no clue why I don't have a group shot Roll Eyes

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / tunic dress on: June 11, 2009 07:48:19 PM
Just finished this. I didn't think it would ever be done!
I actually wanted to embellish it but ...  I'm so over it. lol.

I think it looks good.. just not my style. I think it would look better with a different bust. I think I will try again ... *some other time*... LOL.

Thanks for looking (=
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / De Le Sac on: June 11, 2009 06:56:58 PM
This is the second one I have made using the tute from here on craftster.
I like this one much better. I can't find pics of the first one now..but that's ok. It turned out way too big. I'm not sure why but that happens to me a lot. /= I am goign to give the other one to my prego sister. She will probably wear it as a top (=

I like this one though. It's really comfy.

*I won't be wearing it with the plaid lounge pants (=

I plan to change the ribbon. Red was the only one I have that looked even close to right.. lol.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Dress to umm... Better dress. on: June 10, 2009 11:03:52 AM
I took a before pic of this but now I can't find it. I can tell you that It was really big and it had sleeves. oH..the neckline was at my throat. lol.

After:

* Please excuse the hair.. It's raining today*

Somewhat closer:

I took it in on the sides. chopped of the sleeves and the neckline.. and gathered the bust. Hope you like (=

The original plan was to cut it off to a shirt but I think I'll leave it like this for now. I think I like it.

TFL.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Another summer top. Silky fabric this time. **Added Action Shots** on: June 09, 2009 10:18:40 AM
This top is made from the same pattern as the last. I'm so glad I didn't buy the pattern for this b/c it would be really easy to do without it.
I'm just learning to use patterns so I went with the easiest version.
The others have long sleeves and I hope to try that soon.  Grin

The fabric on this one doesn't drape as nicely as the last.. but I still like it.

Close-up of fabric:

Hope you like it & TFL (=
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Breezy Summer Top. on: June 08, 2009 03:29:31 PM
So..I had to take a break from unpacking and I made this quick top.
It's really comfy..made from a light, somewhat stretchy fabric.. That I think was perfect for this top.
I think I am going to replace the ribbon with  the same fabric as the top. ?

It still needs a bottom hem. I think I will keep the length though. (as much as I can).

Please excuse the mess. Things aren't organized yet. lol. Probably never will be in that room Roll Eyes
