Hi all, I looooove this forum so much. I seriously am on craftster every single day! I recently found this section and was inspired. I love journaling but lately I had been in a funk b/c my journal wasn't inspiring me anymore. What's a girl to do?! Make her own of course!!!
For this I used:
-The back of a cd case (the last picture between the plastic)
b/c I was always throwing it away. I still buy cds b/c I am weary of technology & if something were to happen I will still have all of my music. I also recently bought a bunch of cds of bands from the 70s so I really couldn't waste it. Like any good craft junkie I just knew something else could be done with this part so I put my thinking cap on and thought "hey! this is perfect size for a journal cover".
-Random scrap paper (including card stock & paper bags)
Final completed journal (front) w/ bead detail:
Front cover (Gil Scott Heron) better pic of binding:
Back Cover (Sly & The Family Stone):
+Side Note+ If you look closely you can see the titles of the tracks. I thought the titles perfectly summed up the feel of the Civil Rights spirit of this tumultuous period in the late 60's to the 70's. +/Side Note+
Some of the Pages:
The paperbag is in the back and I used it b/c I also like to collage and paint in my journals which requires a sturdier paper. For my next one I think i'll also put in some wax paper pieces so that its built in. I think that i'll make these for friends & family b/c its so easily customizable. The best part about it all is that it's combining 2 of my greatest loves, the written word & music.
P.S. It worked, i've been inspired everyday to write again!
