1  Re: Fall Scarf Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by mir on: November 18, 2008 07:12:10 PM
I received from Saor, and the scarf is beautiful and VERY warm
(which is a good thing because it's gotten very chilly here Wink)

I love the wool she used, it's so pretty and soft.

Here's a close-up pic so everyone can see her lovely cables. Smiley

Edit:  I also received some delicious smelling candles (which I've already burned... I couldn't help myself!  And some awesome green tea, which I've enjoyed drinking with breakfast.)

I received from dancecrafter!  Here are the lovely crafts I received:

A very nifty (and useful) tissue box cosy:

(how she knew i've been sniffly lately, i don't know.)

An adorable little tote (with embroidered book):

And a bookmark with a great quote  Grin:

thank you so much for such awesome things, and for being so patient with me through my busy schedule/snowstorm travails!

3  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap # 9 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by mir on: September 24, 2008 12:22:40 PM
okay, so i was finally able to get the pics to upload, and here they are!

the yarn balls and patterns:

the full contents:

a very tasty kitkat bar that we, sadly, don't have in the northeastern united states, a small pill box, and an adorable froggy charm:

the row counter bracelet from my wists that i really wanted/needed.  (i used it last night Cheesy):

and my kitties, fighting over who gets rights to the knit mouse:

thanks so much to littlebluegirl for everything!  she knows how to make an amazing MYB.  i'm still undecided as to which pattern i'd rather use my lovely new merino yarn on, though.  i plan to spend the day deliberating.

4  Re: Jar of Mini Whimsies Round 2 Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by mir on: July 28, 2008 06:44:18 PM
so i come home from a looong monday back at work to find a large box that has mysteriously appeared amongst the mess in my room.  (actually not such a mystery, since ms. danniquee let me know when the box ought to arrive, but ANYWAY) i tear into it to discover...

I HAVE BEEN TOTALLY SPOILED.  like, rotten.  man, i don't know what i did to deserve so many awesome whimsies.  i mean, they were packaged in streamers, which my kitten decided to tear apart, and check out how stuffed the jar was:

and check out what else was in the box:

and the whole jar, dumped:

and a scene i made:

for more/bigger/better pics, check out my flickr, because i took about a bazillion photos.  there was just so much to cover!

danniquee is totally my favourite whimsy-swapper  Grin
thank you!  i am indebted for, like, forever.

Edit:  FOR CAKE!!

5  Summer CD Cover in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by mir on: May 28, 2008 05:56:54 PM
So i made a mix cd for a friend who graduated recently, and i decided to make a nice, summer-y cover for it.

i used some scrap wrapping paper (the flowers), some stickers (the leaves and dinosaur), and assorted papers i had laying around.

Here's the front:

And a close-up of the flowers:

And the back, before i wrote in the track names:

i wrote the title of the mix onto the pink circle on the front, and wrote the track listing next to the dinosaur in the sky/sand area.  it was a quick project, and my friend really loved the result.  (of course, it would have been quicker if i had an x-acto knife.  figures, i live with art school kids, and no one has one!)  the glitter glue up top wasn't a style choice, either, i had to use it because the cover was a BIT smaller than the cd case, and i didn't want it to slip around too much.
