Here's my latest gal! She used to be a denimy/fake suede skirt, and is all stitched together with dental floss (which unfortunately shows on all the hems T_T)
I'm pretty pleased with her, she has a nose! Cheesy I still have to work on my stuffing and sewing though, lol. She's a little bit sideways as you can see. I messed her neck up so badly I had to sew ribbon around it to hide her scars, and her feet were so deformed I had to make her socks! xD

But here she is. Meet Thalia, the latest in the line of my pretentiously named poppets! Cheesy

Both new poppets are fabulous! Lakshmi is beautiful! I love her clothing Cheesy

I have a new poppet 3/4 finished, just need to sew the second leg and decide what yarn to use for hair! Cheesy

Gorgeous! The baby's hair looks really great with that soft green. The bigger poppet's hair is awesome as well though Smiley

It IS almost time for another poppet swap, right guys?

DO WANT. That would be a perfect excuse to keep making poppets! Cheesy

The extra space for the nose is a great idea! I will try it the next poppet I make (which will hopefully be soon!)

In the meanwhile, here's Ben, the very first poppet I made, who is a little too squishy, but sooo cuddly! I replaced his wool hair with fur of an old teddybear and he came out so much cuter.

He's made out of the same sweatshirt material as cassandra and all his clothes are scraps of my old clothes Tongue. I'm quite proud of his jeans, I made 'em out of the leg of an old pair of mine, by drawing around him and sewing them up.

ambee- I live in Ireland and in a small town so I know how you feel when it comes craft supplies! I cannot get eyes or alova suede anywhere >_<

you can always buy eyes online, I did, 'cause I had the same problem. It was rather cheap so Smiley (also the shipping costs weren't much and I live in Belgium so they would be the same Smiley )

That would be ideal, but I have little or no money in the bank, and no credit card or paypal.  Undecided I'll have to go to Dublin sometime and scour the place for a craft shop lol. I'll just embroider eyes until then Tongue

Rasita: your baby poppet is adorable! She looks so cuddly Cheesy

I'm making do by using old clothes at the mo. My first two poppets were made out of my brother's old jumper and a few scraps I had left over, and the next poppet will be made from a thrifted skirt. The skirt should work better than the blue cotton stretch tee I had, I've tested stitches in it, and pulled them to test the strength it seems good enough to make it into a poppet! hurrah!  Tongue

lol thanks. I'm unemployed at the mo, and so have little to do (single, no kids, only a dog...) and was going mad with boredom so I taught myself how to sew properly and how to use patterns!
I'm still learning, but I'm getting better Tongue

thanks always inspired! I tried really hard to make her really neat, in total she took me nearly ten hours (over an evening and the next morning, lots of sleep in between) to finish! I can't wait to get my hands on my next poppet, I'm stuck fixing my laptop instead of sewing  Sad
