1  Leather Knife case for the knife i made in Completed Projects by psyfreak2k on: May 29, 2008 11:08:24 AM
i made a knife in one of my uni modules, so because it is sharp i made a cover for it so i didnt stab myself with it in transportation.

the knife i also made by hand and hardened and tempered it so that it lasts for a long time.

the case wasn't hard to make i drew round the knife as a mirrored image and stitched the open sides together.

on it's own, the knife is inside.

half hanging out, it ended up like this because my needle got too bent sewing through leather.

the knife so you can see it too.

2  shirt sleeve bag first project. in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by psyfreak2k on: May 03, 2008 07:45:52 AM
hi, this is my first project of this type, i needed a bag to put my uni projects in to keep them nice after id polished them, i'm a musical instrument maker and had to make a knife and a Purfaling (sp?) marker, for guitar making even though i'm a piano restoring student lol.

I made the bag out of a couple of old shirt sleeves which i stiched together and then closed one of the ends.
the tie off is a hair tie that i cut the metal bit off of and stitched to one side.

my sewing isnt fantastic but it holds well enough.

my next idea is to make a safety cover for the knife cos at the moment it's a paper cover but the knife is really sharp so it needs something a bit stronger.

cant post the actual pics yet grr.

please comment, (not blowing own trumpet) not bad for a guy eh?
