2  from franny granny to floral bustier thing in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by stellar on: May 05, 2008 12:59:13 PM
i got this floral rowlands shirt from the charity shop ages ago and  had some leftover scraps of an old long jean skirt
so..bank holiday + procrastination of french revision= this!
(im wearing a white tanktop underneath it)
it unbuttons in the front
the racerback-wraparound-front bit took me a while to get my head around. patterned by moi

it was surprisingly easy peasy and only took me about half an hour!
merci for looking Smiley
comments / criticism welcome

3  my GCSE little pink dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by stellar on: May 03, 2008 09:35:54 AM
hello all, Ive been a lurker for ages and decided to creep out of the darkness and show you my little pink dress that i made for my GCSE drama exam Smiley
it was quite a palava as it was the first dress Ive ever made and i had to do it in like 3 days. lets just say it was a steep learning curve for me [ Ive only ever made the odd skirt or PJ's ] and it didn't help that i chose a very slippery fabric.
anywhoo, its a vogue pattern which i shortened to a mini dress:

here are some pictorals (sorry they're not that great)

the pleats fell kinda funny when it was on her, on on the front ones (which i only found out the day of performance as she was never avaliable for fittings!) so i hand sewed them down. it was also the first time Ive put a zip in, and the fabric was soo slippery and so that didn't turn out well at all, but hopefully the examiner didn't notice that when it was on stage!
I'm not totally pleased with it, but you learn from your mistakes eh!?
thanks for looking  Smiley
