Okay, I know this is crazy sounding, but a friend of mine works for a dildo factory and I have about 40 butt plugs and dildos that I want to make something funny and unusual with. You know, something along the lines of, Oh what a cool lamp, wait, is that, no, that couldnt possibly be made of dildos! These are toys that have bubbles or color streaks or were trimmed badly, none of them have been used or anything (eeew) I particularly want to make a gift for my friend for her birthday, using at least a few of them. THey are all shapes, colors and sizes. Ideas anyone?
I was thinking that I really needed to organize my craft area (or areas since it is all OVER the house). I realized I didn't have much motivation, but perhaps a Craftster Challenge would be enough to motivate me! I would suggest that the challenge be that you organize your crafting area in creative ways, using mostly things you already have, "crafting new tricks for old things" and with a limit of $20 for any new things that need to be purchased. Before and After pics would be necessary!
Altoids is having a contest. They want to see what people come up with for the best use of an Altoids tin. The grand prize is $1000! Here's the info: http://www.altoids.com/index.aspx?area=tin
How about a meal for four made from ingredients purchased from the dollar store with a $10 limit (My 99 cent store has a fridge/freezer section, if stores in other parts of the country don't have this, maybe it could be made with ingredients that cost less than $1 a piece?)
I wonder if there are other craftsters like me who do their best work in the kitchen!
I just know you guys can all help me figure this out!
A guy at work is getting married in May. We took up a collection and were going to get something off the registry, but we realized what he really, really needs is cash. The wedding costs were more than expected. We don't want the poor guy to start off his new marriage broke!
So, we've got about $500 but we don't know how to give it to him. We don't want to say, here's some cash. We want to have it be interesting, and meaningful. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm under pressure because I'm known as the creative one around here! When a guy left a fwe weeks ago, I spray painted a toilet seat gold, then decopauged a picture of the group on the inside of the lid, and then we all signed the seat! (he arrived from another country and was confused that the seats had gaps on some toilets but not all, so we sent him back to Europe with a "gap" seat!)
We work in a lab so I thought about putting the money in test tubes or something.
I live in the top half of a Victorian house. The house has been split at the landing of the staircase (I don't have any part of the landing in my place) so I have a short staircase of about 7 stairs leading down to a door that doesn't open. It seems like a waste of space and it might also be dangerous if people aren't paying attention. Anyone have any ideas for this space?
I am participating in a craft fair at work tomorrow and a friend has knitted some scarves for me to sell. She brought them over last night and they reek of stale cigarette smoke. I imagine this wouldn't be much of a selling point. Anyone have any ideas for removing the smell really quickly?
I guess it's worth a shot to post here and find someone cool:
The room will be available after December 15. - Golden Hill location, 2 blocks from the Turf Club, easy freeway access (the 5 and the 94), Golden Hill park is practically the back yard, close to the Golden Hill Rec Center and the Balboa Park Golf Course, On A street between 25th and 26th. Easy downtown access, cab rides are about $7. Close to South Park.
- Unique Victorian duplex, the unit is on the upper floor. It is a 2+ bedroom/1 bathroom. Living room/hallway/my bedroom have wood floors, kitchen has linoleum, bathroom has tile, "your" room has carpet, extra room has carpet. This house is quite spacious. Your room has cool wall angles (all the rooms do) and TONS of storage. The house has lots of little cubby holes for storage. There are two extra “rooms”, there is a smallish room that has a low ceiling in places that currently houses my roommate's tv but it could be great as an office, project room (Yay crafts!), guest room or a combination. There is also a cupola on the top of the house (a small room, with all windows on three sides) that has a view of most of the city and is just an awesome place to chill out and read or hang out with friends.
- All this can be yours for the low, low price of $637.50/month (Deposit is $600)!!! This is truly an amazing bargain. Utilities are usually about $20 each/month. We don't have a house phone or cable... but if you wanted those things, they could easily be arranged
- What I want in a roommate - Someone who is clean and tidy, is easy going, financially stable and will not bounce checks to me or the rental agency, is active, fun and interesting.
- Me - I am 27, vegetarian (its okay if you aren’t, but it would be cool if you were) and I am pretty laid back. I work full-time and take classes so I am not home all that much.
