32  Easy Belgian Cooking: Potatoes (Recipe) in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Riechan on: November 25, 2009 01:52:35 PM
I don't like potatoes... Cooked boiled potatoes that is. I love them fried, baked, mashed, oven-served, but cookedboiled... yuck.
This is something I have made a couple of times now,, using baked potatoes and some leftover.
It doesn't get any easier.
Also, I LOVE 1 pot cooking... which means less dishes and it just feels cosier Cheesy
So here's my recipe for Potatoes (I have to think up a name for this dish Cheesy if anyone has ideas, please tell me Wink )

- potatoes (already cooked ones or the packages you can buy in the supermarket which say, ready to bake)
- Meat: chicken (sliced in pieces), ground meat (pork or beef, your choice), ...
- 1 onion, chopped
- a bit of cheese (sliced in to very little pieces)
- milk or water
- 1, 2 tablespoons of flour
- Mushrooms
(if you don't have onions or mushrooms, you can add what you like)

How to
- Bake your meat in a frying pan.
- Fry the onion a bit in another frying pan than the meat.
- Toss your potatoes with your chopped onion.
- if your meat is ready, put it in the frying pan with the potatoes and onions.
- Add the mushrooms
- While this is baking, Add the cheese, Don't forget to stir 'cause the cheese burns easy.
- Take a little cup, mix the tablespoon of flour with a little more than a bottom of water or milk
- Throw this in the frying pan and stir. You'll get some sort of sauce, (if you would like more sauce, keep adding another mixture of
  milk/water and flour
- Have a happy meal! (lol, this was not the intention to quote McDonalds... I don't like the food there... if you can speak of food...)

34  Bottlecap bracelet: Japanese paper (+ little TUT) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Riechan on: November 14, 2009 03:03:56 AM
I was inspired by this post from merrydeath21: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=287913.0
to make my own bottlecap bracelet. But since I don't drink Beer (neither do my brother or mum) it was hard to get the caps Cheesy
Luckily I received some bottlecaps in the OWS swap ^^ + I had some lovely japanese paper laying, received in the Nov Birthday swap last year and I thought it would be perfect!

A little Tut:
I first cut a little round shape, saw if it fitted into the caps and than cut them from the japanese paper.
Glue them in the caps with lot's of white craft glue, waited 'till dry (it took a whole day to dry) and than hammered 2 holes in the side
connected them with jump rings, attached a closure and voila! finished ^^

onto the pics:

I need to change the claps though, it's hard to get it on with just one hand Cheesy

So what do you think?

35  Big Red Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by Riechan on: November 11, 2009 01:01:20 PM
When I got my new wintercoat (a purple one) I needed a matching scarf, right?
So my mum said: I'll make you one!
How could I say no to that Cheesy.
I bought 4 skeins of this red-purplish yarn (specifics will come later 'cause the left-overs are at home)
and my mum made me a scarf using the Broomstitch (it's a literal translation from the Dutch so I don't know if it's right) Broomstick lace - stitch she learned from her niece.
For the ones that don't know this stitch, you use a hook and a large stick (stick of the broom or a large knitting needle)
so it really combines the knitting and crocheting Cheesy
From the 4 skeins I bought there's 1.5 skein left and it measures 110".
I love it! It's warm and fluffy and made with love ^^
Onto the pics:
you can really see the colours in this picture

the stitches:

and on me:

(it's hard to photograph a long scarf Cheesy)

So what do you all think?

edit: the hook she used was a size 6, the needle was size 25 (they were really big!) and the yarn is from MISTERO trends, colour 25, 53% wool and 47% acryl
