36  2 Stencils: Big hug & Twinkle bell + tutorial in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Riechan on: September 14, 2009 05:38:06 AM
Hello so this are my *counts* 2nd and 3rd stencill ever ^^
First one, just really cute (every one knows this image I think, no?) and I stencilled on a altered shirt

Second one,
a present for my niece which held her birthday party on Saturday. Twinkle bell 'cause someone gave her that name and I thought it would be really cute on a shirt. And her fav colour is blue.

whole shirt layed out on the couch

On this picture you can see the grade of shade of the blue. I first painted everything blue than added white on the wings and darker blue on her legs.
Oh my niece loved it ^^ she screamed when she saw it, what else can you ask for Cheesy

So for the little tutorial for stencilling ( for you guys out there who, like me, don't have glue that doesn't make stains Sad)
What you need:
- transparants
- fabric paint + brush or spongebob
- double sided tape
- exacto knife
How to:
- look for a picture you like (edit it with photoshop or something, lot's of tuts online)
- print it on your transparant
(- if you don't have a transparant where you can print on, just print it out on regular paper and than stick it under the transparant and start cutting)
- start cutting (don't forget to secure your little islands, pieces which will be completely loose from the main thing, so surrounded with all black, am I understanding?)
- add double sided tape to the back (this will be sticking on the clothing piece)
- cut again so the design is all surrounded by double sided tape
- pull of the foil of the double sided tape and stick it where you want
- Tape the edge of the transparant to the clothing piece
- COVER ALL THE REST OF YOUR CLOTHING PIECE! (this is really necessary for people who smudge (like me)! and also if you don't think you're going to make stains, you probably will!)
- start painting
- 'cause you have all the edges of the designs stick to the fabric you can paint or dipp or whatever you want Wink
- wait for the paint to dry
- remove all the cover and tape + the design (be careful if you want to use that design again)
- iron the back
- finished !

Hope you understand this Smiley Thank you for reading and feel free to leave comments below ^^s

37  Made some BERP's, Come and see. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Riechan on: September 14, 2009 05:18:36 AM
Hihi so I made some BERP's (Bracelets, Earrings, Rings and Pendants)

warning: BIG PICS, sorry for that :s I uploaded them on photobucket and resized them but they are still this big :s

When I was experimenting with shrinkplastic (I love that stuff) I made some little charms with kawaii faces and I thought they would look nice on a bracelet, here's the result:

The charms are a donut, a cupcake, a tiny heart, golden poo, Piep & Peep from my own comic and a little bell.
I really really really wanted a chunky bracelet, you know, the ones that are stuffed with beads and charms.
So I just started to add beads to a chain and this came out:

it's not as chunky as I had hoped but I didn't have lot's and lot's of beads in the green/tail colour. I still like it though, it tinkles very nice when I move my hand.

Okay this one is addicting to make, I am going to make a whole lot of them and pass them onto friends ^^
This is the tutorial I used: www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/wire_dragonfly

Last night I wanted to make something with the shells I had lying in my desk for over 8 years... You know when you were a kid you used to collect all kinds of shells at the beach but when you can home, your parents were all like: what are you going to do with sooo many shells? Just throw them away! well I didn't, I decorated boxes, photo holders and now I am making jewellery out of them.
I added some pearls and other little beads.

Another pair of earrings which was made for my niece but her mum thought they were to big for her, which I don't think at all ... they are like 1cm (less than 1/2 inch) They consist of 1 golden beads, a butterfly charms and a brown seed bead.

Than 2 wire rings, first time trying this, I don't have a mandrel for ringsize so I use my finger (it's a lot more difficult when you don't have 2 hands to work with Cheesy )

And lastely 2 pendants, these were very easy
also used tutorial found on cutoutandkeep.net
The first one is just wire wrapped with 2 blue beads and 1 white bead inside (which you can't see 'cause my camera is playing dumb)

And the last one

Thanks for reading and feel free to comment!
See yah!

38  Re: Halloween Costume-A-Long? (2009) in Craftalongs by Riechan on: September 08, 2009 07:02:15 AM
Welcome aboard, Riechan! I think convention costumes work too Cheesy
thanks !
For the ones that don't know what lolita style clothing is

lot's of lace, bell shaped shirt, frillies, ruffles Smiley

but I can't sew 'cause today I took my sewing machine to the shop to fix it
It didn't sew well enough any more, plus  I couldn't sew backwards.
So hopefully it will be fully repaired Tuesday next week!

39  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by Riechan on: September 06, 2009 11:48:28 AM
Finally made a clothing piece for my poppet
Still hasn't told me her name yet Sad
Maybe she got a bit angry for not getting any clothes...

A couple of years ago (I think maybe 6-7) my grandma said she had fabric for me, which turned out to be a big big big bag full of  fabric, but due to staying on the addic (the highest place in the house, can't find the right spelling) most of the time for 15 years, so the only nice pieces were reduced to little scraps... sooo I still have the box with little scraps which are good for little poppet clothing ! ^^

and when I was practising Japanese braiding, I made a little scarf which turned out perfectly for her Wink

what do you think?
