11  Handmade flower rings vs plastic flower rings ~ pricing question in Get Product and Website Opinions by Riechan on: August 21, 2012 01:57:59 AM
I make jewellery out of fimo. I love roses to therefore rose inspired jewelry.
Here are some examples of the rings I make.

The first and second one are priced 12 (14.8$) and the third one 8 (9.9$)
Now, I see a lot of shops popping up who sell plastic rose rings, of which some who charge as much as me for 1 rose ring. And I know they only cost 50ct for that rose and a ring.
(I recognize those flowers because I'm also in the decoden sector and got freebies from a company)

My pricing on these rings depends on the amount of flowers and leafs and the rest of the materials.
(I give myself 8/hour, about 10$, than I calculate how long it took per flower and the assembling and than add profit)
Do you think I'm underselling? Or pricing too much??

Thanks in advance!

12  Re: Wee House Craftalong-Ongoing 2011-2012 in Craftalongs by Riechan on: January 09, 2012 06:25:05 AM
Since i couldn't find a kit in the stores and I have quite the left over card board from maquette making I'm making the house using the template katara found.
Here are the pieces that are painted. I haven't done anything to the roofs yet because I don't know what I want to do with them...

I'm going for a gothic mansion where an elegant lady lives who likes painting, reading, piano playing and witch craft Cheesy For the colour combination I've chosen black-silver-red Smiley So if anyone has any suggestions for the roof, let me know Wink

I finished my skirts!
This one is an bustled back under skirt, made by quite a heavy fabric

And the right one on here is my first pleated music note skirt Smiley The red skirt is also made by me but somewhere last year Smiley

Yay! Onto the next piece so I have some room in my closet to fill up with new fabric C:

14  Red Rose Lolita skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Riechan on: June 17, 2011 01:11:05 AM
A while back I took the plunge and made myself a lolita skirt. I made on before but made a mistake so it turned out a bit less poofy than I would have liked.
I worked a whole weekend on this one.
The fabric is cotton and there's about 3 m of it in there. The pattern is a basic rectangle, gathered at the top.
Everything is sewn by machine but I did all the gathering, ruffling and hemming by hand...
and offcourse after that I discovered a hemming foot in my mothers sewing case. Roll Eyes
This was my first time inserting a invisible zipper and it turned out not that difficult as I expected, so I'm happy about that ^^.
It's a bit big but I can solve that with waistties, although when I went back to buy some more fabric, somebody had bought the whole roll T_T

I'd love to know what you think of my first try at a lolita skirt ^^

I received ^^ Pics in a moment!
Sorry this will be pic overload ... oops!

Opening the box (which had Sailor moon stickers on the side ^^ I'm putting those in good use!)

the crafts:
I got the (almost) entire set of Sailor Senshi (I don't like sailor Luna so much so that's okay Wink )

A sailormoon notebook and sticker

a bracelet (already round my wrist ^^) and a sailormoon iron on (?) I love it! (that container is a part of a resin set I also got!)

Sailor Moon (Jadeite) cards (maybe I'll make a bag out of these)

and lastly, sailor moon stationary

It isn't over yet, here come...
The extra's!: We agreed on exchanging something Japanese and something from our country

Candy!!! The "Katjes" are very very very good! I don't like those coughdropps so I'll probably give them to my brother.

Japanese dining set

a handprinted bag

a resin beginner set ^^

Thankyou so much Ruby Copperhead!!! You really spoiled me ^^

20  Deco ~ storage boxes in Completed Projects by Riechan on: November 06, 2010 05:33:59 AM
A few items I decoed.
(Deco is a originally Japanese craft where you make things look like sweets and things, you decorate stuff using fake whipped cream, cabochons, gems, ...)
All the clay items on there are handmade by me without a mold.

First up, a ring organizer made from a cigar box. It was a bit dull, so I added deco Smiley

The top of a Ben & Jerry's icecream cup ^^

I bought an old tin at a fleamarket just for decoing.
I's a heart shape

A close-up

And some pendants.

(Sorry for the big pics :s)
C & C are always welcome ^^
I have more pictures at my blog Smiley

Some explanation:
The fake whipped cream I used for the ring organizer and icecreamcup is modeling paste
The whipped cream in the pendants is silicone, the thing they use to fill the gaps between tiles and stuff.
They to make these products look like whipped cream is just to put them in a piping bag (like you use for decorating cake), it's as easy as that Wink

For more information you can visit my website which has a lot of info about deco and their materials Smiley : https://sites.google.com/site/allaboutdeco (hopefully this link is allowed? I'm not making any profit out of it or something Smiley )
