1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / DSLR custom padded camera bag(pic padded) TUTORIAL LINK ADDED on: January 20, 2010 10:37:24 PM
ETA TUTORIAL: http://creatinghappinessblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/padded-dslr-camera-bag-tutorial.html

I would post the tutorial in its entirety here....but it has lots of pictures, and I can't figure out an easy, non-time-intensive way of posting them here......

This is my first project post on Craftster. I'm in awe of all of the Craftsters that post. Normally, I wouldn't post anything except comments on someone else's gorgeousness, but I'm really happy with the way this turned out, so I thought I'd share it Smiley I think I'll post the rest of the projects I've made, as well.

I have a friend who's a photographer. She's been looking for a camera bag, but she didn't want to spend $100 or more on a lame black bag. I told her I could make a cute one. She took me up on that. She traded me a photography session for this bag. She chose the Alexander Henry citrus fabric, showed me some bags that she liked(which I used as inspiration and possible copying.....), and I took it from there. I looked online for a tutorial for a padded camera bag for a DSLR and found nothing, so I drafted the pattern myself. It took me forever to figure out what to use as padding.

front, open. showing zipper pocket and patch pocket

bottom. it has feet!

close up of my logo. sorry....but I'm just so excited about the logo Smiley

inside, and far away of my label.

Bonus: camera hand strap from this tutorial: http://photojojo.com/content/diy/diy-camera-hand-strap/.

For some reason I can't get the picture of the back and strap to upload, so I'll try to do it later.
Thanks for looking!
