11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Newbie dumb question about drills on: April 28, 2008 05:18:18 AM
Hi, I got carried away and bought lots of gumball charms, kitschy beads and old lucite flowers etc off ebay and now I want to put them on a charm bracelet. First I need to make holes in most of them. How?

Do I need a drill? And if so what sort do I need to make REALLY tiny holes in the beads do I have to buy a special jewelry drill? Someone on the FAQ suggested a hot needle does that work on plastic? I don't want to invest too much in to this to start, so if I do need to buy a drill, can anyone suggest somewhere good to buy one in the UK?

Thanks very much, very sorry if I've repeated existing queries but i couldn't find exactly what I wanted to know.

Huh
