821  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Another round of stash buster/ use what you have? on: July 07, 2008 03:36:25 PM
Sounds Great! Im going off to college in the Fall so using what I already have and saving the money for tuition sounds like a wonderful idea. Smiley
822  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Secret partner swap... on: July 07, 2008 03:25:28 PM
I was in the same Small Mystery Swap. It was fun to be a stalker and look up their posts and such.  We were required to have 50 wist items min. This keeps the questions to you partner minimal. I had no need to communicate to my partner as the wist spoke for her.  Also there was a cute questionare that we filled out that gave additional information.  It was so much fun. I honestly wish that all of the swaps required wists to a small degree as it is so much easier to craft.  That was my first swap and it went so smoothly thanks to wists.

I would also like to add that we didn't have any clue when our package was coming (the organizer kept track of the packages with the DC#). That of course is optional.

The swap is still going on if you guys want to check it out.

I would love to do another!

YAY! I have been thinking about this swap since around October!

I will be a freshman starting September 6th.  I personally would appriciate the package at least a couple weeks before then as everything is so busy the closer it gets to school.  Im in Maine and my school is in Rhode Island so I have to pack everything then, rather than do it in sessions like some people do when they live fairly close to school. So I agree with the teens dates

Can someone explain to me what the "big brother/sister" style consists of? Im not familiar with this when related to a craft swap.

Yay! I recieved! I got it this afternoon but had to grab it and go as I had a doctors visit to go to. I originally wanted to do action pics for you all but I had to open the package while riding in the car.  I just couldn't wait till after!

My stalker is ccswch!

I am SOOOO pleased with my package! When I opened it up I squealed like a little school girl for each and every item! All of the items I recieved were wisted which was absolutley awesome.

The first thing I saw was this record bowl  Cheesy  I have wanted to make one myself, but my mom is afraid as she thinks it will start a fire or whatever  Roll Eyes

The second items I saw were cloth liners. I have been wanting to try these! I just don't trust my sewing skills to make my own.  I have heard wonderful things about them for health and comfortability.

The third item was a roll-up crochet hook case! I kept saying to my mom "I really, really, realy hope they make me one!".I was VERY happy to see that in my package!

Thank You SOOO Much ccswch for being such a wonderful stalker. I am very impressed with your sewing skills and I just LOVE the fabrics and colors! I hope to bump into you again on craftster! Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful. I am just oh so giddy right now!!!!! Thank you again!

I am going to try to package up my package today and figure out a what is the cheapest company for my needs.  Any one got a suggestion on what they have found to be the cheapest?  With UPS and all I couldn't even get an estimate because the zone I am sending to isn't even in the chart Sad   I will figure it out Im sure.  I just loved this swap so much Smiley
827  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Small Mystery Swap Send by July 1st on: June 21, 2008 12:31:56 PM
I am officially finished crafting! I can't send it out just yet though because I still have to wrap everything and then I have orientation so I think Wednesday will have to be the day...we will see. Maybe I will bring my items with me to RI so I can send them out there if I have time. It would be cheeper too considering it would be closer than I am to the recipient. Being in Maine, I am far from eveyone!  I am so excited to see how she likes the items I crafted for her!

I have a question...
What do you do if the thing you are making your partner suddenly disappears from their wists??  Do you assume they no longer want it and trash it or what?!?

Ooo Thats a tuffy. I have been cautious of doing this for my wist to not cause confusion and such.  I did however delete a couple because either the images got mixed up and I couldn't fix them or there was a simular item on my wist. The situation could also be that they got the item or simular in a swap, so I would check what they recieved in other recient swaps.

So to my stalker, if you made something I deleted then don't worry about it because I will love it  Wink

Im so excited that people will be recieving! I have been wanting to see a gallery for quite some time!

As for an update on my progress...nothing new. Im am camping right now(as I do for the whole summer) and I come home to do laundry and such (I live 15 mins away, weird huh?), so I can get on the internet and communicate. I did bring my crafting supplies to finish my last item but I've been so busy the last couple of days and Im heading out for orientation for college this weekend so Im preparing for that.

As for copying someones wist item, it was suprisingly easy for the particular medium I used.  It was exact actually and I was very pleased.  So I have had some luck in this process.

pinklrt, your fabric is beautiful. Everyone is picking out such wonderful fabrics!

ATTN: Stalker
As I am camping and going out of state for about 4 days, please don't post the pictures of my items even if the tracking says I recieved. I will still be getting on the internet randomly with a laptop, so I don't want to see my items online when Im in another state no knowing I even recieved. I do have a camera so I will definatly be putting up the pictures (and if I remember, action shots).   If I recieve, I will be at home so I can immediatly post, but if I don't post I havn't seen my package yet. Thank you ahead of time Smiley
