1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Graduation Dress :) on: July 14, 2008 03:37:26 AM
Hello!
So it was my brothers graduation a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it was the perfect excuse to buy myself some expencive fabric and make a pretty dress! I used a pattern. It was a new look one, but i don't remember the number. I'm sure i can find it if you wanted.
It's made out of some lovely soft cotton which i got from a really expencive shop in London! luckily it was a remenant so i paid 20 ($40) for what should have been a 60 ($120) piece of fabric! Smiley
Some pictures!

And a couple of action shots. I wore it with a little cardi cos it was a bit cold.

I also made one exactally the same (but different fabric) for my brother gf, who is currently living with us. Hers is made from some really lovely embroidered cotton. Super proud of myself. I made it in the afternoon before we left (We had a 6 hour drive there and back) and i had to fully line it cos it was see through. I only have one pic of it though. Here it is:

Let me know what you think Smiley

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Skirts and tops (I'm new here so be nice!) on: June 26, 2008 08:42:03 AM
Hello! This is my first post so please let me know if I've done something wrong or the pictures don't work...I'm a bit of a technophobe....

So, I thought I would show you a few of the things I've been working on recently Please excuse the rubbish photos... Clearly not something I'm good at....

Anyway! Stuffs! Firstly a bubble skirt I made out of some lovely (discount!) vintage fabric. It has a little pocket on the inside so i don't have to take a bag when i go out but its actually inside the waistband, so I look a bit strange when i try to get something out of it... I'm learning still....

Secondly, a top I made out of an old table cloth. Cost me 75p from a charity shop (I think thats about $1.50) It has little flower buttons and a zip in the side so I can get into it.....

Thirdly, another skirt made from some black and gold (ooo, shiny) fabric. It has 5 layers of net underneath and has a pocket in the waistband (slightly better placed...)

Finally, a top I made yesterday out of an old mens shirt my Mum found in the loft (whoo! free stuff!) She says it looks like an apron cos of how it ties at the back.... she might be right...? I like it anyways though. This was inspired by a post a saw on here for some remade clothes by UrbanOutfitters. Can't find it right now, but THANK YOU whoever posted it Smiley

Thank you for looking and please tell me what you think!

love Hatty xxx
