I'd say they need more stuffing to be truly round. The first thing I had to learn when making plushies was to use about 10 times more stuffing than I thought I needed. *lol* These are awesome!!

You could just make a few baby squares here and there with leftover yarn bits and keep them in a box somewhere to be scarfed later.

Made some progress on my blankey today! I think I was able to finish 5-6 squares? Would count but DH is home and it's very shhhhhh! I'm hoping this will be a Big Awesome surprise.

Also, some of my Red Heart yarn is kind of stinky. Just smells like ugh, straight out of the ball. Has anyone had that happen before? Any tips? Heck, I don't even know if you can wash this stuff. (Can you tell I haven't kept much of what I've made? lol.)

^ LOL, me too! I think if I had to start and finish all those teeny squares I'd go mad! Thanks! I've been crocheting for a couple of years now, but I'm new to granny squares (go figure), so this is a learning process for me. I have some things I'll do differently next time, but I love it when I figure out something new! Makes my mom-mushy brain feel smart again. *lol*

I hope it's not too late to hop in on this I, too, am making the pixel-Mario granny blanket with 252 4" squares. I'm going a row at a time to keep it interesting, joining in rows and then I'll sew the rows together at the end and add the border. So far I have his hat and part of the top of his face done.

I love these guys. <3 I've made 2 and half-made two more, but the finishing work/hand-sewing/tummy-striping KILLS me. I end up bleeding on them. *lol* I, too, think the lopsidedness adds to their charm. They always look like they're tilting their heads at you all curious. Totally cute. Well done!!

I made some of these this year too! Just Mary/Joseph/Baby/Donkey so far, though. My mom collects nativity scenes as well, so the Angel, Shepherd and Sheep will be for Mother's Day (Joseph was a carpenter, not a shepherd, so I didn't make him a crook; I'll make a separate shepherd) and the Three Wise Men will go to my dad for Father's Day. So they'll have a complete set (in order of arrival, lol) by next Christmas.
