1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: My first post! Anime plushies~<3 on: May 01, 2008 02:37:10 PM
Grin This is my first post, so I thought I'd start off by posting my three little plushies. The first is L from Death note, which I dressed him as a shinigami for my own amusement. (I think my mom posted him a while back)

And the other two..Iruka and Kakashi from Naruto ^^ I made them for a friend <3.
Kakashi has wolf ears and Iruka has cat ears :3

first of all, let me just say that your plushies are ADORABLE, and i bet they'd sell for plenty if you took them to an anime convention!!

second of all, being a huge naruto fan, i'm a bit confused by your iruka plushie... iruka sensei has black hair, in a ponytail. and i don't think i've ever seen him in a dress >_>

ha! i am morbidly obsessed with shirring. isn't it fun!?

wow that is beautiful! i love all the details with the bow and the lace

how do you put it on? buttons in the back?

a zipper. i'm not very good with buttonholes yet, lol  Undecided

i agree with everybody, it is boutique worthy....i am a complete cheapo yet i would probably purchase that. sorry for the change of topic but-what kind of cosplays did you do (coming from a fellow anime buddy)

they weren't very good... i was younger than, and considerably less familiar with my sewing machine.
but i've done

SOF outfit eureka from eureka7
selphie from ff8
mamimi from flcl
dj iroha from beatmania
black outfit from pretty cure

... i'd still really love to make some outfits from  evangelion, except that these days i avoid conventions for the overwhelming... COSPLAY DRAMA. lol

What an amazing job! It's beautiful! Is it a dress or a shirt? WOW. You, my fellow craftster, have mad skills!

it's a shirt. i would have loved to make a dress, except that i was lacking in pillowcase material after several tries with the sweetheart neckline, hehe

I'm a former cosplayer, so the prospect of using my sewing machine for something original, or outside the realm of anime/manga is pretty foreign to me. Thus, my first In Real Life project began with..

a calvin klein pillow

an extra large men's shirt

..and a vintage slip.

more:

i almost like it better without the straps, but i'm still not sure so i sewed them on with a fairly loose, wide stitch. same goes for the ribbon, because i didn't actually have any genuine ribbon on me - i used the straps of the slip as a temporary replacement..  Undecided
