1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Show Off Your Hair! on: February 26, 2009 12:07:12 PM
Hi! I'm not quite sure if this is quite the right place for this, but here goes!

I made some wool fake dread/extensions, and I'm planning to wear them to D-Con (Scottish Anime/Art Convention) this weekend. The problem is, I'm having doubts about them, I often do this when i do something odd to my hair - what do you think? Yay or nay?

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Jacket fabric problems... please help! on: August 21, 2008 12:10:25 PM
Hey y'all! Bit desperate now for help, so I'm asking you lovely craftsters Smiley

I've made my own jacket pattern from scratch (so proud of myself!), it's about hip length with a hood and I'm making it for winter cause I'm tired of not being able to find a jacket that fits my taste without costing me 250!

However, I'm having major problems finding fabric. I'm wanting to make it out of a wool mix, or acrylic wool for the warmth and density of it, so I know it's gonna be pricey. In my 'local' fabric shop (takes me and hour and a half to get there) the wool mixes there range from 18.99 to 20.00 a metre. I've searched online for some, but asides from the fact that I'd like to feel the fabric before I buy it, the only wool mix are either more expensive, or patterned or checked or something. I'm considering using a heavy cotton drill (much cheaper) or some such, but I've never felt it before - would it work for a winter coat?  Huh

*Just thought of something. Would cotton drill lined with batting work better?

All advice appreciated  Smiley
3  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 27 ENTRIES / Old School Rose Prism Lamp on: May 04, 2008 07:46:41 AM
This is my first craft, and first competition entry - hope you like it!

It's made from mounting card, tracing paper and acrylic paint, and is going to use a battery LED candle-type light which will just sit inside, I just need to wait for it to come in the post. I love oldschool tattoo flash - so much I have it tattoo'd on me, so I thought I'd start adding more personalised things to my room to brighten it up Smiley

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Old School Rose Prism Lamp - My first craftyness! on: May 03, 2008 07:20:41 PM

My first craft is a spontaneous 2 hour job made from mounting card, tracing paper glue and acrylic paint and I love it!  Cheesy I'm still deciding whether it's going to be a battery run lamp, or run off the mains. What do you think?
