11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: victorian print weekend bag on: August 21, 2008 11:54:41 PM
Is is cosmetic sized or big enough to hold a few pairs outfits?

oops! I definitely should have mentioned that or given a size reference. It's about 20 inches long, so big enough to hold a few outfits. I'm always able to stick in a towel or 2 as well Smiley

EDIT! (12/25/09) I made a new bag based off of Logsio's Funky Weekend Bag Tutorial! This time I kept her same proportions, but made it smaller. It's 15 inches long, so it's a little baby Smiley It's a delayed Christmas gift for my boyfriend's mother. She saw the one I made last year and liked it, so I used the same fabric. It still needs a zipper, but I needed to email her a picture of it and decided to go ahead and post it here anyways.

Thanks for looking! The original bag I made is below if you're interested. Smiley

I play water polo at school, and our tournaments are always weekend long overnights. Needless to say, I just had to make a new bag for our season Smiley I saw a post here on Craftster where a girl made a similar bag and was immediately inspired to make something like it. Unfortunately I can't remember her username for the life of me...so if by some chance you remember a bag similar to this in design let me know and I'll give her credit for my inspiration Smiley

edit: the bag that inspired this one was made by Logsio.. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=42927.0

onto the bag...

the side

I used a parka zipper (meaning it zips from both ends) and I still need to add a lining with interfacing. (I was too excited to use it so months later I still have not done that! haha)

thank you for sharing all of this info! i've been meaning to make something like this for a while (an image that repeats when tiled) but i'm very impatient with photoshop and illustrator. your background image turned out great!
14  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / intimacy comic and silkscreen... suggestive themes! on: July 22, 2008 02:51:51 PM
This is a comic I did for a drawing class a couple of years ago. Pen and ink... It's done on white illustration board, although it looks cream in the photos. After I finished the drawings I was dissatisfied with some of the cells, but still liked one of the images so I decided to reinvent it in a silkscreen.  I plan one reworking the first three cells because I really rushed them to get the assignment finished. Anyways here are the photos...

The pen and ink drawing:

here's the silkscreen:

thanks for looking!  I realize that I need to find a better place to take photos of my artwork; the lighting in these is poor but I think you can get the gist of what's going on Smiley

i would much rather see a piece like this that shocks you and makes you think than something such as "i painted a picture of my dog because he's cute."  great concept with smashing the frame, i love artwork that the artist builds up and then destroys.

i like the idea and it looks really good for doing it in one night; i'd love to see it if you decide to work more values in!
