They all look great, still - I adore the last ones and the leaf ones.

Earwires sound interesting. I constantly run out of earring hooks.

Thanks.  Smiley  Yeah, it's nice to make your own ear wires rather than buy them and as long as you have sterling silver wire (or gold-filled) on hand, you can always make wires.

Thank you everyone.  Smiley I appreciate the good words.

I know I'm coming in late on this but I had to say that that is about the rudest and most stupid thing I've ever heard of someone saying.  I'd consider the source there and just ignore her. What a creep.

The 1st ones are very original. I also love the leaf ones, and the coffin beads and skulls are too cool. If I ever saw those coffins in a bead store I'd snatch them up.

Thanks. Smiley Here is the link for the coffin beads...just enter the word coffin in the store search field.

and the link for the skull beads.

Awesome work! I love the leaf earrings although I'm hearting on the skulls and coffins!

Thank you. Smiley I really did enjoy making them.

Thanks. Smiley

I saw this technique posted somewhere (I think it was a Live Journal post but unfortunately I don't remember for sure) a while ago. I always wanted to try it and finally got around to it.  It really is very effective.

To make the ear wires I used 20 gauge half-hard sterling silver wire, wire bending pliers, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, file and a hammer and anvil (or other hard surface).  I generally cut about 1 inch pieces of wire (it varies) file each wire end to remove sharp edges and then hammer flat a short section at one end.  Use the round nose pliers to curl the flat end into a loop.  Then use the thin section of the wire bending pliers to make a bend in the wire a short distance below the loop.  Use the wire bending pliers again but this time use the middle section to make a larger bend (in the opposite direction of the first bend) about halfway between the loop and first bend and the unbent end of the wire.  Use the chain nose pliers to slightly turn up the uncurled end and then gently hammer the whole thing a bit to stiffen it up.

I've experimented a bit with the technique, but that is essentially what I did. Smiley
