7  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: rubber ducky you're the one, you make ferret cage cleaning so much fun on: August 19, 2009 05:02:38 PM
heyla- saw that there were some new posts about my ferret bedding, thank you:>
sewing the covers/liners wasn't too much of a hassle ...i laid out the fabric and used the flooring pieces as the pattern and added an extra half inch on all sides. i made the top opening longer so that it could be wrapped around to the bottom side when it was in the cage, that way the fuzzies can't crawl underneath it..
what was a huge hassle for me was trying to make the sleep sacks and tunnels and hammocks for some reason. i went about it totally backwards and didn't want any exposed seams for nails to get caught on so in the end i did french seams on these obnoxiously thick layers of fleecy bedding and it was so very much not fun lol. the ferrets appreciate it all though at least...
sewn alot more ferret nation bedding sets since then and my favourite is the last, transformers! yeay!:D
thank you for the niceness :>
