1  What I Made the Boy for Christmas in Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage by ixelrae on: December 19, 2008 11:44:53 AM
This year he went to AZ to be with family for Christmas, so we exchanged gifts early. I: knitted him a tie from http://www.classiceliteyarns.com/WebLetter/44/Issue44.php
   embroidered him a stocking
made him this scorpion ornament from instructables (he always talks about the scorpions in AZ) :   http://www.instructables.com/id/Wire-Scorpion/
sewed him a dammit doll for his stocking
whipped up some bottle cap magnets for his locker
wrote him a letter to go in his stocking
made two knitted eyeballs from cutoutandkeep.net
He loved the tie and knitted eyeballs and all of the other non-homemade gifts I got him. The rest went over pretty well. I was going to make him a steering wheel cover and got half-finished before he said he hated them. I also thought about making him a CD holder but then found out he has one he never uses.

I plan to make him: 4 CDs with a scrapbook to go along with it called "Livin' Our Love Song" because he insists that's our song. I got the idea from another post on Craftster. Also, I bought the yarn to make him a pair of Knucks from Knitty's site. I also plan to make him a Rubik's cube with our pictures on it once I can get some good ones. In his stocking I put a few pairs of his undies. I stole them from his drawers and put on handprints and an iron-on set of lips. I have one more pair that I plan to add "Property of Lexi" to the back.

Here's a picture of the knitted tie. He showed it to everyone in school the next day. It needs to be ironed here because the point is a little wonky. I would leave out a few rows at the beginning of the tie if you use a different yarn like I did because the point portion ended up being a bit too long. I used a fine weight Paton's yarn (I believe Paton's Grace) in place of the bamboo stuff. Ignore my crazy face in all pictures.
