So, I made this lamp about 2 years ago, I met my boyfriend online, he lives in Washington and I live in Mexico. Eventually he came to visit me on August 2005. I cleaned my room, and tried to re-decorate on a budget so his stay was enjoyable.

While getting rid of old stuff, I found a broken keyboard and a cheap lamp. the structure of the lamp was only a PVC tube and a metal base and top. I painted the whole thing white, took the keyboard apart and hot glued the insides around the painted PVC tube. The insides of the keyboard are some plastic sheets with circle holes where the key sensors are, a mirror looking silver sheet, and some circuits here and there.

I realized the lamp looked a lil bit like something out of Star Trek or Star Wars. I finished it off by making a shade out of a cut out rectangle from a blue plastic folder, taped the edges together to form a cilinder, and also glued some of the scarps from the keyboard circuits. Bf is SO geeky, he liked the lamp and continues to love me today <3
