I got Ameyaltzin a while ago! but had no time to post pics!

This is how she arrived!!! In her beautiful dress!!! Cute!!!!1

She brought a scrapbook: this is my fave page of the scrapbook!!! Love how the dog and Ameyaltzin are hugging each other!!!! arent' they cute???

from the places she visited

From her ceramic class and some snails! (funny I sent snails too!!) Not all of them are in there because some went automatically into use!!

Other goodies pirate sent!! I love the cookie cutter!!! And the passport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An amazing picture book (that my brother stole right away and that I'm fighting to get back) and a book by a local writer that cannot wait to read!!

Pirate also sent me a tshirt (which is now in the washing machine, so will post pics later!!!)
And just to remember.... The last picture I took!! (Ameyaltzin arrived before Piccolo left)
I know it's crooked, my computer wont rotate it, so I will re-post it as soon as I manage to fix it!!!1

Thanks for all Pirate!!!!!!!!!!!!

23  Shakespeare needlepunch embroidery, prose before stitch... in Needlework: Completed Projects by malisha on: September 28, 2009 11:45:36 AM
Hi everyone!

I made this for a friend of mine that loves Shakespeare (as I do), I had this needlepunch embroidery kit lying around, and I thought to give it a try.

It's not finished, it is going to be a purse (but my sewing machine's pedal broke down, so I'll have to wait to post pics of the final product), but the important part (the needlepunch embroidery) is finished! It feels like you are touching a towel!!! so soft!!!!

Well... enough of words!!! Here it is a close-up of the needlepunched Shakespeare:

aand here... the un finished project!!!!

What do you guys think???
C & c welcome!!!

a little resume of our trip around mexico

Prepare to be jealous:::::

We went to CHICHEN ITZA (mayan civilization pyramids) here she is with the most important pyramid Kukulkan which is now considered one of the new 7 wonders

Then we went to Cancun (one of the most beautiful beaches in mexico) Look at the colour of the sea!! We went snorkeling here, but the pics are in another camera.

At another beach in Campeche (with me) I know the colours of the sea aren't as amazing as in Cancun... but it's a beach!!

With some typical mexican dancers (they looked at me kind of funny when I asked them to take a picture with a stuffed animal)

and finally... we went to the Aztec Stadium to see the Mexico vs United States soccer game! Which... needless to say... we won!!!

ah! the unicorn measures 10 x 4 inches, i dont know why she looks that big on the picture! Anyway... yesterday my little nephew came by and fell in love wiht aleera!!! And she asked me to borrow it for the next 3 weeks!(when we will see each other again) and aleera wanted to go with her!! so.. she wont be traveling this time! In her place... Ameyaltzin will go (her name is in Nahuatl, the Aztecs language, and means little water spring)

I know... she is a pork! but... she is 100% flu-free!!

We're so excited she's traveling!!! she has already started packing!
And i'm excited too!!! cant wait to know who's comming with me!! we'll go to many fun places!!!

28  Frida Kahlo purse! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by malisha on: February 19, 2009 12:26:08 PM
I made a purse for a swap and i fell in love with it!
I was waiting to find the perfect fabric to make one for myself when i realized i had this alexander henry fabric with frida kahlo prints on it! IM A HUGE FAN OF FRIDA KAHLO... so.. i thought it was the perfect opportunity.

this is what came out

the inside with lots of pockets and stripes to separate sections (i even put a secret pocket... i bet you cannot find it)

and... with stuff on it. I made a special kind of pocket to keep my stethoscope in place (i'm a med student)
btw, have you found the secret pocket yet? i made it to keep my girly stuff

hint: you can just see a line.

and an action shot:

comments, critiques, please tell me what do you think because i'm seriously in love with it. And so are my friends.

29  Re: Pinky puffy sparkly girly swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by malisha on: February 11, 2009 11:16:48 AM
I had to go to the p.o. to get it! and when they gave it to me, i just stood still looking at the box! not being able to say anything, with my mouth wide open... well you get an idea!
and as i have no words to describe it!.... see it for yourselves!

this is how it was wrapped (kind of, i couldnt resist myself and ... as soon as i got back to my car i opened it!) Ok! sorry for the blurryness... i was shaking when i opened it!

all wrapped up: (kind of... again the same story.. but then I realized i had to take pics and... stopped opening everything)

muff, sleeping mask, coasters (already in use)

books!!! can you believe it??? boooks!!!! Shocked Grin Grin and bookmarks!!! with shakespeare quotes in them!!! (one of the quotes is my favourite one!!) and celtic knots!!!

sachets!!! that smell delicious!!! already on their new home!

slippers!! (to keep my feet warm) which are awesome because i hate shoes!! i take them off as soon as i get home but is too cold in here to wear nothing!! sooo... the perfect solution!!! actually i'm wearing them right now!!!

a winter skirt I asked for! and its really warm!!! (ok the pic was taken by mom and... it was a little blurry, but she took 4 pics and this is the less blurry!)

and a close up of the beautiful embroidered flowers!!!

and an amazing amount of chocolates!!! there WERE more.. but i had to hide some of them(to keep them away from my brother and other people around) ... and others were automatically kidnapped!

I'm still amazed! seriously this is the best package i've received!!! Now i'm scared that what i sent wont be enough!!!
Thank you Jennifer!! You are the best swap partner!!

30  m&m pencil bag!! dellicious! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by malisha on: January 13, 2009 10:26:53 AM
I dont know if this is on the right place, feel free to move it or to ask me to if it is not on the right place.

I made thisfor my brother's bday! He collects m&m's, so i thought it would be a great idea to make a pencilbag (kind of) for him!!

It's made out of vinyl, well the m's are handpainted and then embroidered.
The inside has magnetic closures but are hidden inside the fabric, it closes anyway!
Well... these are the results!

The outside..

the inside

I also made him some paperclips

and... well red couldnt be missing!

Should i still say that he loved it all??

Opinions, critiques??? appreciated!!
