3  Shawl to skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by harlequin1031 on: May 17, 2008 07:18:27 PM
First clothing I've ever reconned or made- first real sewing project actually.....so it's pretty rough.  I don't have a before pick, but the striped fabric was a poncho/shawl thing and the polka dots was fabric I had from the $1 sales at walmart.

4  was a ???, now a cool bar VERY PIC HEAVY in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by harlequin1031 on: May 17, 2008 04:29:21 PM
There have been many arguments over what this thing was originally intended to be- I thought it was a kitchen hutch, and used it as such in my last place.  My mom thought it was part of a computer desk, and a friend thought it was a headboard.  When we moved (to a place with a lot of kitchen cupboards and a garage for "adult space"), my husband decided it is now a bar.  I agreed.  Here are before pics:

A few coats of mod podge and 1 tarot deck later (a deck he had lost a couple cards out of and replaced a couple times- he usually never loses tarot cards- it's just something about this one deck)

I'm not completely done.......I'd like to print out recipes for various drinks in a cool font and mod podge them to the top- my husband is not so sure about this.  I am also going to make lighter cozys with velcro attached and put velcro on the sides of the bar to hold them.  What do you think?  Any other ideas?

5  Scrabble Cake, 3 pics in Dessert by harlequin1031 on: May 07, 2008 09:55:01 PM
I made this for myself and a friend- his birthday is three days after mine, so we have joint parties

The final scores are ridiculously low for a scrabble game, but they were our ages

My friend asked me to help her make her son's birthday cake last year.....this is what we did- it's the movie Cars- I normally try not to use non-edibles, but it was her son's cake and she wanted the toys on there

7  Asian food cake & treats in Dessert by harlequin1031 on: May 07, 2008 09:49:08 PM
These were my first attempts at doing anything like this by myself, about a year and a half ago- I think I've gotten much better since then, but they are still cool, if not just for the idea

8  Coasters! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by harlequin1031 on: May 07, 2008 09:46:36 PM
My first mod podge project, and my first sculpey project (clay in general really, unless you count fiddling around with playdough with preschoolers).  Made with sculpey, mod podge, computer printouts, and felt (on the back)

And here is one my son made for my mom, who just moved into a new home

I hope the images work......
