Thank you very much, mrsmartin!

I guess you're right about handmade. If something were 'perfect', there'd be no way to tell it apart from mass-produced, machine-made books, and I don't think they have much 'character'!

I've successfully covered my books with fabric using this method

1) line fabric with iron-on fusible web - the lightest weight kind.
2) PVA - cover the board with the PVA, then place the lined fabric on top.

I make the fabric lining 5mm short of the fabric all around, i.e. the edges of the turn-ins are only fabric. This is to be sure that the turn-ins are totally glued onto the board - just incase the lining should ever part from the fabric.

I've been bookbinding for almost 6 months, and finally have made something I'm 99% happy with.

These are A6 size (approx 6 x 4 1/2 inches), landscape orientation, hardback blank books/journals.

They are quarter leather bound, and covered with lined 'homespun' cotton fabric.

I've had great trouble trimming bookblocks, so I left them 'natural' - this means the foredge is stair-stepped, and the tail has got a 'deckle'. Ideally I'd like properly trimmed blocks, but... meh... it's not happening right now (any tips?).

Feedback very welcome, lovely people!

Are you saying that you've got a piece of writing that you want printed and bound in a hand-made book?
Or that you make hand-made books and want to publish them with yours or others' writing?

Bit confused, sorry.  Embarrassed

Great idea to celebrate Earth Day, and great cards. Can you tell us how you made the stamps and what sort of ink/paint you used?

That's really lovely and inventive! I think handmade things are much nicer to decorate our homes with.
